    I dont know about fair weather supporters, weve been doing well all season so plenty of time for people to hop on. Might be to do with the site being quieter as a lot of lads left to the other forum, gives people more time to think and post. Ive been around for years, old 606 and that, and dont get much time to post because of work and social life but have made more of an effort recently because the board was quiet. When it was busy I would log on a few times and enjoy the banter..... but as there was a lot going on was generally just content to catch up on latest news and that. Cant speak for everyone obviously, just giving a different point of view.

    Someone should make a "Welcome new members/posters" thread. Unless theres one already, in which case ignore this sentence.

    Sorry to ruin your theory but I'm not really 'fair weather' material.

    I joined (BBC)606 in the final months leading up to our relegation, as I heard from regular posters I knew that our boys were getting a lot of stick - so thought I'd join in the banter and help even things out a bit.

    So certainly not a glory hunter. BUT, actually enjoyed some very good banter - including with certain Mackems (although a few complete idiots too).

    Then spent the whole relegation period and Championship season on 606 before it was closed down, after we had secured promotion. Had excellent banter with vaious championship fans (i.e. 'real fans') and it was really refreshing compared to some of the fools on the Prem board. Enjoyed the championship experience far more than I expected.

    I just never really made the transition to Not606 after the Beeb closed their site and after a couple of half-hearted attemps, stopped logging in. Had a message recently from a fellow fan, so decided to check it out again.

    So yes, had plenty of opportunity to enjoy this great season as a 'fair weather' fan would, but simply hadn't got round to being on this board until this week. <ok>
