I'm not going to get into an argument about what is or isn't ignorance. You've obviously made your mind up about UKIP but to me you seem to have bought right into the fobbing off done by the other major parties and certain media outlets (cough guardian cough).

You'll also find at the heart of UKIP's green policy is the aim to reduce the economic strain generated by over the top green policing by government and the EU. They want to reduce energy bills through cutting green requirements and the way we approach them. At a time of economic instability i can see the obvious logic behind there policies.

The bit you are refering to you'll find they stop short of saying global warming isn't real but instead focus attention to natural temperature cycles whereby the earth cools and heats in waves. It's not worth arguing about, it's the result of this trail of thought that is important rather than which science is correct.

Personally i don't see the point in how stringent we are with Environmental Management when countries like China completely blow us out of the water making us not much more than an insignificance.

Glad you has said so as I didn't want to bring this up myself. Looks to me like this is pretty advanced in it's progress, the EU being the initial blueprint for other area's of the world to follow suit. This goes back a long, long way though. Islam, it's called the religion of peace, which comes from Arabic. It doesn't actually mean peace though, it means submission. I'm pretty sure that Mohammed was a Catholic initially, bear in mid that there was no such religion as Islam prior to his founding of it.

Which is precisely why we need some kind of global governance in matters such as the use of fossil fuels and deforestation, as countries such as China are now burning fossil fuels in order to gain a comparative advantage. This is still not an excuse for us to follow suit though, as this will just hasten the pace of the devastation that is coming soon if we keep on the path we are at present..
