OT: Mafia game thread starts Sunday 8pm 14/9/14

Which you knew we wouldn't follow?

 

Magic would be my number 1 for investigation given his silence.
A Mafia don letting his cronies do the work and going unnoticed (did he even pick up 1 vote?) or a townie who was busy and never got around to posting...?

 

So Astro said what he was going to do 3.5hrs beforehand and then carried it out a full thirty seconds before nightfall? Cutting it a bit close isn't it? Also brings unwanted attention because of the timing. It was fairly bloody obvious that people weren't doing the one vote per person approach at 5pm never mind 7.59pm!!!

AFC changing to save someone appears dodgier (is that a word?) than Astro throwing me in the ring TBH. Could they both be coincidence? Both innocent acts that appear dubious? I don't know but I know I don't believe either of them.

However, I don't believe either are the Don. Finding mafia members is great but it is the Don we need to take control of the game. No conversion or assassination attempt points straight at Magic. Problem is, the snitch knows our cops will be looking at him too.

Do we risk getting the wrong info on Magic? *

Or do we ignore the signs for Astro and AFC and take a gamble on Magic being the Don?


* by the sound of what MITO has said, the info given when false is different to when genuine. For example; a cop looks into someone that turns out to be the Don, the cop will be told its the Don. Mafia Investigator and snitch the same. If the cop checks a innocent and the snitch covers them, the cop is told they are "mafia" only.

 

AFC has been voting all over the place. I can see the scenario where his was just a silly mistake. If Astro turns out to be innocent then Bod might be too*.

So if we're making this a two horse race- I'd go with Magic (suspected Don) or Sky is a personal suspect of mine ( but don't think would gain much traction).

* Bod and AFC remain suspects though even if Astro is innocent.

I didn't want the mafia to protect people I wanted the maximum number of people in the coinflip in the first place. Having the mafia actually in danger and potentially dead is better than trying to interpret any of the nonsense that follows, especially when half the players aren't even online.

True. Once Lucaaas came out and said "I'm the investigator, it's Danilo", you went with that.

 

But you approach of having as many in the coin toss as possible was in the hope of getting a reaction to mafia being involved in that coin toss. How can you get a reaction with thirty seconds remaining?

 

I don't agree with that logic though. Random chance doesn't help- it's trying to force people to make last minute changes to protect each other (like you possibly did) that helps locate the Mafia. That's the whole point of having a multiple horse race- to force the mafia to do something unwise.

 

Hmm, surely that can't be right? Great for us if it is as we then know if they are true mafia by getting their role, or if they are an innocent being stitched up but then it would make the whole snitch role pointless?

 

I don't think that is an option, it is too obvious and the snitch will cover them whether Magic is innocent or not.

 

Just going by what MITO as said. Or is he going to assign a false role to each cover?

 

This seems like a sensible strategy, I will also vote for Magic, because if Astro is innocent we will be giving the mafia a free round.

I vote Milk. I have no idea how to play this game Is Gerrez still playing? He could be the Don though he doesn't have the brains. IBWT is acting a bit too paly for me. Am I doing this right?

 

Getting an early vote in for Afcftw given his dodgy movements. If he's Mafia then we know Bodanki is mafia and highly likely to be the don.
