You're seriously suggesting that Adam Pearson told Brownie who he could and couldn't play?

    Seriously?

You mean like at Ipswich, right? Where he was head and shoulders their best player and changed their season whilst on loan, and then from the day he signed a permanent - and lucrative contract - he never put in another single decent performance and acted disgracefully both on and off the pitch? It does interest me the way people really dont see a quite obvious pattern.

No I'm talking about when it very obviously happened at the beginning of Big Nige's ill-fated tenure.

Please don't try to deny that.

I think those sort of patterns are self-fulfilling prophecies.

One of the oldest and tiredest football cliches is "he doesn't need to play well now he's got his contract" therefore people pick faults in performances where they wouldn't normally and get on their backs having a negative effect on the player.

I thought you were pretty clued up on football BCC, I must say I'm surprised at some of the naivety I've read from you on this thread.

We tried to get rid of him in the summer, he refused a move to Celtic and was frozen out a consequence, but once it was obvious we were stuck with him, he was allowed back into the first team at the start of September. He played four games before getting injured again, then he came back from injury on Boxing Day and played all fives games from then until he was loaned to Ipswich in January and we brought in Fryatt and Mclean.

He was overpaid, he was almost permanently injured and it was simply common sense to try and get rid of him at that time, a decision that was proven to be correct when he moved to Ipswich and was crap.

At risk of going over REALLY old ground, the decision to freeze him out and loan him to Ipswich was ****ing stupid and motivated by Our Dear Leader's ego as shown by his performances for both teams that season.

It's not picking faults, its FACT. Ask any Ipswich fan. He completely changed his level of performance.

I'm pretty stunned by your blindness in the face of indisputable evidence.

Ask Ipswich fans who was '****ing stupid' in this instance.

As I say that's an old football cliche that I'm surprised somebody like yourself is buying in to.

They voted him their Player of the Season in the season I'm referring to so I'll stick with Our Dear Leader.

That rather backs up BCC's point, he worked hard on loan, but as soon as they signed him permanently, he didn't give a ****.

Jimmy Bullard leaves Ipswich Town after contract terminated

Ipswich Town have terminated the contract of midfielder Jimmy Bullard by mutual consent.

Bullard, 33, was no longer part of boss Paul Jewell's plans after only starting 12 matches last season.

"I need to be out there on the park on a Saturday afternoon, not sitting in the stands," he said.

"I feel as fit as I've ever done and knowing that my opportunities were going to be limited at Ipswich, it's best that I move on."

Following spells with Peterborough, Wigan and Fulham, Bullard joined Hull City for £5m early in 2009. However, his impact on Humberside was restricted by knee problems and, two years later, he moved to Ipswich on loan. He made a big initial impression at Portman Road and was named Supporters' Player of the Year at the end of the 2010-11 season.

Bullard completed a permanent move to Ipswich 12 months ago, signing a two-year contract, but was unable to repeat his form of the previous campaign.

He was only a peripheral figure during preparations for the new Championship season, prompting speculation that a parting of the ways was on the cards.

He looks like an old woman.

My son reckons he looks like Aunt Bessie but I'm not having it.

Not the new Aunt Bessie anyway, maybe the old one.

But yes an ugly **** indeed.

Not really, in the season I was referring to Jimmy was tearing it up for Ipswich whilst we were pissing about in mid table with Big Nige.

If Jimmy was playing for us and Our Dear Leader wasn't looking out for his own ego instead of the football club who knows what could have happened that season?

There's still absolutely no excuse for the way JB was treated by the club that season. No amount of money gives any employer the right to publicly degrade and humiliate an employee like that, especially without giving him a right of reply.

Any time Bullard comes on the screen I feel like putting my boot through it, footballs moved on from the 80's and 90s when idiots like him and Peter Swan could piss away their careers, amazing he could even last as long as he did with his injuries and lifestyle
