I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. Voltaire I hope none of the **** I say at home isn't recorded and published not that anyone would care about anything I said might annoy the pc brigade though
Very sad situation really. Sad that opinions like this are still held in this day and age, and particularly sad that someone is his position and with his influence should hold them. I would agree that his involvement in basketball should certainly be called into question. That said, I also agree that there should be a degree of privacy around what we all say in our own homes. I would never say anything like the comments seen here, but I would like to think the conversations I have with my wife are just between the two of us...and will not be heard elsewhere. Once again though, as someone of mixed ethnic heritage, and proud of it...it is just sad that people still hold these views. My hope is that he is part of a generation who were bought up in a systematically racist society, who will soon die out, and their opinions and prejudice will die with them.
Clarkson apology over racist rhyme BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has issued an apology on Twitter after unbroadcast footage of him appearing to use a racist word was given to a tabloid newspaper. The Daily Mirror reported that the star used the n-word in a nursery rhyme, although the paper claims it was later edited out of the BBC broadcast. Mr Clarkson responded to the claim in a video on Twitter saying he loathed the word. Read more Jeremy Clarkson denies chanting racist nursery rhyme http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27249038
That's OK then. I actually believe him when he says he hates the 'n' word. The disturbing thing is that his continual casual racism is accepted and admired. We still love him though, don't we? An alliance of Clarkson, Boris and Farage would be unstoppable.
Typical Labour / Mirror / PC rubbish. Of course the fact he's a neighbour and friend of David Cameron has nothing to do with it...
ok then here goes what was the nursery rhyme is the word in the rhyme was it ba ba black sheep was he sizist about marys lamb was he obeseist about someone sitting on a wall was he ageist about a woman who had empty cupboards
Appears to be even an issue in NHL ice hockey. "Sandwiched between P.K. Subban's opening goal and double-overtime winner was a stellar effort from Carey Price in Montreal's 4-3 win at Boston. Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban scored the evening's first goal with a wrist shot on the power play and wired home another with the man advantage to end the game in the second overtime." http://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/ho...-the-day-for-the-canadiens-in-the-opener.html please log in to view this image I note this comment attached to the article (cannot verify if true):- "Racist tweets after the game, people throwing bottles on Subban after the goal, yup, Boston class all right..."
At least 5 black NBA players were sanctioned last season for making homophobic remarks. They were all fined, nothing else!
****** actually trended on there so many thousands of people must have been using it, not just a few dumbasses. The same thing happened with pens fans and Simmonds on the flyers, its pretty sad.
P.K. Subban targeted by racist tweets after Habs win please log in to view this image Racist comments proliferated on social media networks Thursday after Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban scored the winning goal in a double-overtime match against the Boston Bruins. On Twitter, unhappy Bruins fans tweeted comments like "That stupid n----r doesnât belong in hockey #whitesonly." According to Montreal media monitoring and analysis company Influence Communications, the N-word and Subban's name were used in conjunction on 17,000 tweets yesterday, although the majority of them were not negative. Some dismayed Boston fans chimed in, expressing their disappointment with those issuing racist tweets. "N----r was trending in Boston because P.K. Subban scored⦠Itâs a rare moment in my life to be ashamed to be a Bruins fan" one person tweeted. Another wrote, "I bet the Bruins fans calling P.K. Subban a n----r on Twitter have no idea his brother plays for their minor league team." P.K. Subban's brother Malcolm Subban was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2012, and Jarome Iginla is a biracial right-winger for the Bruins. Both players are Canadian-born. Boston Bruins president Cam Neely issued the following statement early Friday afternoon: "The racist, classless views expressed by an ignorant group of individuals following Thursday's game via digital media are in no way a reflection of anyone associated with the Bruins organization." On Friday, several Boston Bruins players, as well as head coach Claude Julien, told CBC sports reporter Andie Bennett they condemned the offensive tweets. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/p-k-subban-targeted-by-racist-tweets-after-habs-win-1.2629759
Genuine question Ice hockey fans.. Are there many black, coulouredf or non white (delete as you like) playing Ice hockey in your leagues? Having never really followed it much i dont know.?
No, theres about 1 non white on each team and the Flyers have two, some fans are ******ed but one of the flyers black players said hed never experienced any racism personally. The Flyers also have a part indian head coach as well, his nickname if the chief as he was a very good fighter, the PC crowd havent quite reached there yet as its a respectful name basically calling him the boss. I think theres more racism in the NBA, one of their players recently said it was a black league, imagine the uproar if a white player said his league was a white league.
Ok, thanks..it didnt strike me as a sport for US brothers...!! Having said that, the last time i was skiing in Breckenridge (Colorado) it was "national skiiing week for Afro-carribeans" or some such PC title... Wont say to much more as Im sure someone somewhere will take it the wrong way. Try this.. http://www.nbs.org/
Another guy in hot water.....going down a slippery slope:- Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson says the BBC has told him he will be sacked if he makes "one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time". please log in to view this image http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-27266102 Writing in the Sun, Clarkson insisted he did not use a racist word while reciting the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe in an out-take from the show that was published by the Daily Mirror. Although he mumbles the word, Clarkson begins by saying the letter "n". The BBC says it "left him in no doubt about how seriously we view this". The BBC apologised in 2011, after an episode in which co-presenter Richard Hammond called Mexicans "feckless [and] flatulent" and Clarkson joked they would not receive complaints because the Mexican ambassador would be asleep. Apologies were also made for an episode broadcast in March, in which Clarkson used the word "slope" as an Asian man crossed a newly built bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand. The use of the word - which is a derogatory term for people of Asian descent - led to complaints.
Yet more banana nonsense.... (in this match Adel Taarabt came on as a 76th min sub and picked up a yellow card for a foul. Fans were warned the game would be suspended if there was a repeat. "Whoever threw the banana on the pitch deserves to have a coconut thrown back at them," Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono told Gazzetta dello Sport. "They've ruined what was a great afternoon." Milan boss Clarence Seedorf said: "I hope they find the culprit and do what they have to do." Constant was on the receiving end of racist abuse during a pre-season tournament match against fellow Serie A side Sassuolo in July. On that occasion, the 27-year-old kicked the ball into the crowd and left the pitch. He was fined 3,000 euros (£2,500), with Sassuolo fined 10 times that amount. Two weeks ago, Barcelona defender Dani Alves picked up and ate a banana thrown at him by a Villarreal fan. Footballers worldwide showed their support for the Brazilian by posting pictures online of themselves eating bananas, while Villarreal were fined 12,000 euros (£9,850) by the Spanish Football Federation. please log in to view this image http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27363859
