And are you working to line your pockets?

Let's be real here. We're humans. Some of us are nice enough to volunteer for things every now and again, but 95% of us want to be paid for doing work and won't move off our arses unless we do.

Of course the bankers are working to line their pockets, BUT their work is to try and save the banks, save the economy and ultimately solve the situation for the working class (as well as the other 'classes'). That's their job role, and that's why personal financial incentives, like big bonuses, are there to make sure that they do this job to the best of their ability. The better they work, the more we benefit and the more they benefit. It's not a particularly kind or generous or 'giving' method, but it works.

I have to say, i'm with Chappaz 100% on this.

The people earning bonuses will have hit their individual targets, and therefore are not responsible for the banks losses.

I worked in sales for years, and if the company reduced commission payments, I moved company.

Same principle, Chappaz is spot on IMO (apart from the job role, that is to make money for shareholders, the other things are just a fortunate side effect).

    VR is voluntary redundancy.

Interesting points Chappaz. You have argued against my post fairly eloquently and without abuse. I have given my opinion, which is different to yours, but equally valid. If you knew anything about me then you would know I am not someone who has no "idea what you're talking about" but as we are unlikely to agree, even if we bat posts back and forth to each other all night, I will just leave it there and finish watching the cricket!

Yes = took VR along with an Early Retirement package, so for the 1st time in my life I have a thick wadge of cash in the bank. UNFORTUNATELY because of a divorce and a greedy ex-wife I do have quite a big mortgage so will need to work, and I have a job lined up, but definitely not in banking - but soemthing I have always wanted to do.

Happy to buy anyone a beer and will be down for the QPR game - will be in the Isis before the game.

PS - CHUMPAR$E is spot on for once, just has a bad taste in football teams. Also cannot believe the to$$er has ever had a girlfriend, unless she was under 10 or over 60, coz imo I am convinced he is a perv of some kind.

Looking at the USA a billionaire recently revealed that he paid less PERSONAL income tax than his secretary. If a labourer is worth his hire then pay him fairly - lets cut out all tax breaks and off-shore accounting and start all over again.
