I'd be interested in knowing what foredeckdaves opinion is on the whole non-believers going to hell thing as well.

    I think I'm confusing myself TBH.Lol.

Ok, the question if directed at you would have been, "do you believe this is it, this physical life on earth"

Having read your responses so far I was assuming (you're right. Dangerous thing to do) your response would have been along the lines of "nope, I believe in the Christian God and so believe in eternal life with him after this."

If that's the case, your answer couldnt also be: there's possibly nothing, there's a giant tortoise, we become ghosties etc etc as any other answer would contradict your belief in God. So that's you reduced to one answer to that question. See what I meant? You don't see various possibilities, you have one certainty.

As i said a scientist in the absence of proof would have to say, "could be any one of a million things". That doesn't mean they don't have a preference or favour one they think probable but they would not insist any are impossible (as some are claiming) if applying their scientific methodology truly.

And yes, if someone stopped believing then of course they would then be able to scientifically approach the "does God exist question" because they removed the absolute without proof that made their position unscientific in the first place.

Honestly, my post was an attempt to defend people with religion from anyone claiming science proves them wrong because it can't. The most it can do is build an argument they believe makes God improbable which always makes it debatable and not an absolute.

Somehow it's came across as the opposite lol.

It has been an interesting thread at times but there is also a lack of respect for some peoples opinions and views and there is a mocking disrespectful tone creeping into the thread.

    Closed.

As always if people really want the thread re-opened PM one of us mods.
