Thinking that is one thing but in reality doing it in a way that doesn't look deliberate would be very difficult. See Schuey on Hill way back when
Fair point, but if you were Hamilton in that car right now given all that's gone down this season is that what you would do??
I'd rather be behind someone and not forcing risky manoeuvres than in front of someone who I taking huge risks. I don't think Rosberg is going to get close enough to make a huge difference though and think if he does then Hamilton might just sacrifice the win in the final few laps to avoid being wiped out.
Hamilton win and wins the WC. Shame for Rosberg having issues with the car but Hamilton had to pace on him and the rest of the field that I don't think it would have made a huge difference.
Knew it would be more entertaining watching this than our game. Yes Lewis. Get in there. True, shame that Rosberg had those hybrid problems, not how we wanted it won, but after that start nobody was catching Hamilton anyway. The cream always rises. Plus Nico's issues make that 50/50 across the season in mech / electrical problems and fails. Glad to see Rosberg took it like a man though, finishing the race when the team had told him to retire and accepting with a handshake that Lewis has been the better driver this season. 11 wins to 5. Speaks for itself. Not forgetting Rosberg's poor racing, the Monaco and Spa incidents especially. Looking to next season I hope that the Mercs are strong again and Lewis can go for WDC number 3. But I also hope that the other leading teams can close the gap further, Williams especially but Red Bull too with Ricciardo the main man. And that McLaren and Ferrari actually give their drivers a genuinely competitive car, however funny it would be to see Alonso struggling at the same team he had big problems with in the past. Also, if McLaren let Jenson Button go that would be a travesty. He has to stay and race on, he's been their top driver this year.
Next year should be interesting. Williams have done well and hopefully can build on that. Alonso is the best driver on the circuit and if he gets a car even close to the Williams/Mercedes then he'll be up there fighting for the title. I don't like Ferrari, not sure why, just don't, and not a big fan of Vettel so have a nice reason not to cheer them on next year
A little late but well done Hamilton! They had the race on on the other screen in the pub. So I was watching our game + the race in bits and bobs
With you there. Dislike them even more now that ****head talentless Vettel has joined. McLaren will probably improve next year but can't see them producing a potentially title winning car for a couple more seasons. They've been slipping back for years now so lots of ground to make up. Then there's the fact they're swapping Merc power for Honda. I'm sure being the factory team will benefit them rather than staying as a Merc customer. Hope Williams stay at the sharp end, def. BBC had a segment this weekend where Bottas was driving Hill's title winning car. They should be up there, they're an important team. I think Hamilton and Alonso are pretty much equal, they offer slightly different things though. Vettel I have never and will never rate, he's a talentless twat who lucked out with by far the best package for four years.
As far as the cars go, I'm a Ferrari fan so always want them to do well. I don't mind Williams either. Always back the British driver though.
Same Wasn't exactly a great finale with Rosberg so low down. Hamilton could have retired and still won
I see them a the United of F1. Team that were always successful and full of glory hunters I tend to cheer on the Brits more than the teams though so whoever Hamilton/Button are racing for.
I guess that depends on your age. Benetton (thanks to Schumacher) and then Williams were the dominant teams when I was young and I didn't particularly like either. I can tolerate Williams now after years of mediocrity It was Hill, Coulthard and Irvine back then
Mine was Schumacher at Ferrari dominating when I was young so again, like United in the 90's and early 2000's was bored of their success
Thats it, follow a team or driver????? Ferrari are poor now though to what they used to be. same for Mclaren
I don't follow one or the other (I don't actually follow any, just a preference) but sometimes it does create that sort of mentality. For example, I didn't like Schumacher but loved Ferrari
For me it's drivers and British drivers and what ever team they are on. If one of them went to Ferrari it'd be a bit weird though, not sure how I'd feel. It'd be like Torres going to Chelsea, make me hate the team even more and feel betrayed by the driver
