Banning the breed isn't the right thing to do here. Not trying to walk six at a time and he wouldn't have this problem. Yes size is an issue, but staffys aren't all that big and hiatoriaccly are people dogs, with dogs not being bred if they showed even the slightest aggression to humans. I've said it before a couple of times, but daschunds are 'worst'.
But Pitbull's were bred for baiting(like many more acceptable breeds) back when it was legal, breeding them to fight is just something that's been done since, you can breed any dog to be dangerous. Like most breeds Pitbull's were bread with a purpose, it humans that have changed the purpose not the dog.
On this occasion yes...However, breeding animals which can quite easily take down a grown man and then letting them loose in public is just wrong in my opinion...They have often been bred for generations to be aggressive fighting dogs, and they can revert to that mode at the drop of a hat which has happened on countless occasions.
Much more constructive then wiping out a breed. I'd introduce licencing too, to track all dogs and owners. As it stands anyone who has been banned from keeping dogs can have one without the authorities even knowing.
Quite right and these dogs like Pitbulls have been bred for centuries for violence. It's not the dogs fault. You get ultra defensive dog owners coming on saying how soft and gentle their dog is, yet it is always the same breeds that are mauling young'uns. Time to put the value of human life ahead of any dog, imo...
Nothing to do with the papers loving a pit bull story over say a border collie? Maybe its more to do with less affluent ruffians who use them more as a status symbol than a pet?
I think there's certain breeds Indy that just take to fightign like a duck to water, try getting a Bichon Frise to maul an intruder! I think it's probably more to do with the owner than anything else though, street scabs who can't defend themselves wanting to be hard men, it's a fast track ticket for that lot.
See I used to knock around with this lad and have stroked the dogs before. But this is sheer stupidity like. The last time he was out apparently a firework (according to him) set the dogs off - this was just completely random. I defended him last time but this time no chance. Indefensible

I've got a staffie (see Avatar) lovely dog and very loyal and I'd trust him with anyone, young or old. But, he hates other dogs and there's no way I could take him out and let him off his lead, if he saw another dog he would go for it. He was very well trained as a pup but he was attacked by another dog when he was around a year old and since then he just hates other dogs. I've spoke to loads of people about it and they all say, it's in the breed and not much you can do. Saying that, I treat him accordingly, but that ****ing dip stick should be put down, not his dogs.
