Here I am Col! Other results aren't important if we win enough on our own. They become important when we have ****ed up already. We need to get 40 points out of the 72 available from the 12 other non top 7 teams - less if we sneak a few points against the big boys. Then we could enjoy Burnley beating Chelsea or Palace beating Liverpool. Relying on other results is simply admitting we aren't good enough. Which of course may be the case, we'll see. By Christmas I may be agreeing with you. Wouldn't it be nice if, just the once, we could sail on serenely gathering points regularly in about 14th all year?
Can't see it stan. The more points our relegation rivals pick up, the more we need to get. I'll be thrilled to see us in 14th for most of the season but as I say, I can't see it.
As much as I didn't like to, had to want a win for that lot today. Burnley will be down there with us, so it absolutely makes sense that we want them to lose.
Funny how your perception of teams change once we're back in the Premier league...found myself cheering for Arsenal, Liverpool, City and even the Scum this weekend because they were playing teams who I'd expect to be around us come the end of the season. Every defeat for those teams helps our fight for survival - if they dont make it to 38/40 points then we have as good a chance of staying in division as them - Col is right, all results matter regardless of whether we are involved in the match or not. Obviously, in an ideal world we wouldn't have to worry, but we are QPR and nothing comes easy!
A bit weird wanting Chelsea to win, but self preservation is everything. So I can just about live with myself!
This for me. I know the other point of view makes sense, but I kinda like seeing the Chelseas, Arsenals, Livepools and Manchesters of this world losing to smaller clubs - Of course, I'd like that little old outfit in Shepherds Bush to be one of them.
