Have to ask yourself... Is she really worth having to spend time with you <whistle>

Depending what you're into, loads of free sight seeing can do.

Or go up the shard if you want a good view, much better than London eye but not sure on cost.

Try China Town (Gerrard Street) at the back of Leicester Square. Largest Chinese community in the UK and loads of places to eat (with prices ranging from the very top to...........) Many places stay open until 4am so it's a good spot for a late supper..

hehe Tussauds for £15 a pop is value for money I'd say.
Forgot the War Museum was free. Not quite sure it would be a 19 year old girls cup of tea though

No problem and I'm sorry to hear about your condition. Will it get progressively worse?

Unfortunately yes, my dad was wheelchair bound the last 2 years of his life.
My uncle David too, and he went blind the poor batard!!

My brother is worse than me though, he was diagnosed a full year after me and his has progressed so much faster, he was a cage fighter too, so he was forced to retire!
His pecs have disappeared and he has drop foot already, and he is only 34! :(

    Harsh, sorry to hear that.

On topic, it's a while since I've been to London, but what about Hyde Park? Going shopping in Covent Garden is cheap if you don't actually buy anything (not sure what your daughter's like in that regard). Maybe a boat ride on the Thames, not sure how much that is though.

I was just about to say that actually, from what I remember they range in price quite a lot as there are several different vessels you can choose from, from a normal little boat to a floating restaurant, so you can eat dinner on the Thames. Look around, I am sure there are some reasonably priced ones.

Like I said before though, if you DO plan on visiting any of the main attractions (London Eye, The Palace, Tussauds) book online before you go, as far in advance as you can.
If you turn up and want to pay at the door they normally rape you for admission (not literally! :p)

I seem to remember prices starting from about 10 quid, but that was a while ago now and I may be remembering it wrong anyway.

hehe I only bought it up because I was trying to think of things a teenage girl would be into.

Granted I dont know RHC's daughter, but I just thought a teenage girl would be more interested in getting herself snapped with Ryan Gosling and David Beckham, than looking at Little Willie (Thats a WWI tank by the way guys, before anyone says anything :))

Imperial war museum and the British museum are both good shouts for penny watching. Natural history museum is alright as well though not as interesting unless your into rocks. The science museum is alright and there's plenty of art galleries.

It's worth just walking along the river too. Start at the London eye and walk down to the millennium bridge, cross over and walk back up the other side. Very beautiful at night. Plenty of places to stop for a drink or something to eat as well.

For a nice day out you could always head out of Central London to see windsor in the sw or Greenwich in the se. Windsor has a castle, lovely little pubs, ice cream etc... Greenwich has a large park with observatory, donkey rides outside and the area is full of little restaurants and pubs (blackhealth nearby is nice also).

There's also lots of cheap shows on these days. Check the smaller theatres as well as the larger ones as there are some real cheap options that can be a good night out.

It all depends what your into really!

Oh and if you wanted a nice young man to show your 19 year old daughter around, just let me know ;) also quite happy to let her know of any events going on at any of the clubs that weekend if she has any friends with her (assuming your not going to head out raving with her!).

I'd just do my standard: Natural History Museum and then pop into Westminster Abbey to pay homage to the greatest biologist ever (and also say a quick how-do-you-do to Newton), by then it's home time. Cracking. Aside from the pubs, which are ridiculously overpriced, that's all I'd do. If pushed, then I'd perhaps take in a Theatre or Opera visit or maybe an Art Gallery. <ok>

I can find plenty of things to show her in South Carolina if you send her my way instead RHC... just put her in a plane (wouldn't want you to have to pay for two tickets)...

I'll take her to see the giant arse in Gaffney!

Then there is the giant fire hydrant!

That's not the only giant thing I could show her...

... could take her to see a giant atomic bomb crater- from where the US accidentally dropped a nuclear weapon on itself.

    South Carolina has it all!
