It wouldn't be a problem if Facebook wasn't so influential.

Cock on. Stick a picture of a soldier up with some moronic message like "Our politicians give billions of pounds to Muslims, but nothing towards our troops." and people will believe it as fact. And because it can be shared, it can be spread like wildfire.

To quote Abraham Lincoln: "You can put any old writing next to a picture on the internet and people will believe it."

If Faecebook punters are all so dumb and easily influenced, what's the point in being on it???

Well I use it to chat to friends across the pond, keep in touch with old uni mates and occasionally rant about stuff I don't like. What's wrong with that?

There's plenty of legit and good uses for FB. Some people just like to sneer at it and pretend to be too cool to use it. Aggron's a bog standard, and sadly more common these days, social inadequate who craves attention. By typing clever stuff like "faeces" instead of "face" he thinks he's displaying a high level of intellect, above the majority on this board.

He still doesn't realise that the majority of the forum thinks he's just a stupid ****.

The group mentioned in this thread seems designed to appeal to the Mail/Express type readers, who similar to your example, read stuff like "6 million of your taxes a year to keep this Muslim terrorists wife in a mansion, but old Bert here gets 4 pound 50p a week in a pension, LIKE if you Disagree, IGNORE if you think its right" and think "that's awful, it's on the internet, so its obviously true, and I think its wrong, lemme like it and comment. I'm not racist but..."

Oh dear <laugh>

Having a bad day are we?

I generally like Facebook, it does have some really good points. I'm part of some really good music groups, news is usually posted on Facebook first, it's easy to keep track of what's happening with friends.

But it's definitely gone downhill in the last year or so.

Things that annoy me. Groups/people sharing dumb and stupid political false nonsense, girls writing statuses about being fat, girls complaining about guys making lewd comments, but then posting pictures of themselves in there underwear, people who post food, selfies, people write in text speak and people who constantly write statuses that are attention seeking or trolling.

I have rule if someone posts two ridicules statuses I delete them.

Yes.

Actually he's pretty much spot on there mate. I mean, we see loads of transfer rumours flying about online, but most of them are completely unfounded and yet people believe them as gospel. Same thing with Britain First. It's like people have never heard of propaganda (the biased spread of news, not the Hull based Gay bar).

So if you go another club's forum do you get converted into being a fan of theirs?

Faecebook is aimed at the young and or dim. Good luck to anyone who takes it seriously.

How are you qualified to speak about something you know nothing about?

What the hell are you talking about? Conversion to other football teams?! What does that have to do with Britain First?

Take it from somebody who studied social media as part of their degree, you don't know what you're talking about. Stick to football.

Do you realise how unintentionally silly that made you sound?

How do you know how much I know about Faecebook?

You have no idea how I use Facebook. I certainly don't follow any of this Britain First bullshit but it doesn't stop it coming up on my newsfeed and appearing in the news.

Stupid thread, this is why we don't discuss politics. Mods, you know what to do.
