Just when you think you're making progress, been down the pain clinic for 2 appts. First one was group thing explaining the clinic, second drove nearly 30 miles in and was a 10 min questionnaire that could've been done by phone.

Top cap it off had a letter with next appt yesterday and it's........

DECEMBER

Ffs how on earth do they expect people to live like that.

GP don't want to intervene with meds because of pain clinic.

Got referrals in the pipeline to neurologist, rheumatologist and gastro team but not even had dates for those yet, so that'll probably be 2015

I've really had enough now
 
You really shouldn't have to, but if I were you I'd go Private mate even if it meant borrowing the money. If there ever was an advert for the necessity of Private health insurance it is you my friend.

If I could make it work I probably would but I'm probably about to get hoofed outta work. I've also heard from ppl with my condition they've paid for private health care which has been worse than the NHS. Suppose just need to accept they can't help everyone

Just been signed off for another 2 weeks. Apparently a previous gp gave me the wrong dose of vitamin d. My levels were off the bottom of the scale last year and was prescribed 400 units daily.

Gp today said should have been 40,000 units daily for a week.

So got those, more anti-depressants.

Sent home to wait for appts for

Rheumatologist
Neurologist
Gastrointestinal

Going to phone pain clinic up later and ask wth is going on.

Felt pretty suicidal over the weekend, as have no life anymore it's just staggering from one problem to the next.

New gp booked me an appt to see him again on 26th which has never happened before (usually have to go cap in hand to reception)

I still feel awful, really painful wrists, hands, elbows, knees and ankles so back in bed.

Can't hold anything at the moment especially something like a pen

Still waiting on union rep to get in touch regarding working environment etc but I'm thinking might not be going back as I'm just getting worse and worse.
 
Sounds pretty bleak Rich but don`t even think of suicide, if i were you i wouldn`t bother with the anti depressants .
You can shoot me down for suggesting it but high grade marajuana is a good pain relief and it takes the edge off life.
I prescribed myself a fat splif after watching the debacle against Wolves yesterday .
If it helps keep posting your thoughts on here mate ,a problem shared and all that.

Yeah I've had more anti-depressants than hot dinners none of them have ever worked.
Part of why they prescribe them is not just the antidepressant side of things but for some reason they often help with neuropathic pain this time I've got a pure SNRI most of the others have been SSRI'S or combined SNRI & SSRI.

we'll see what happens.

Yeah I used to use it to treat migraines before the triptans were available.

Sadly I don't really know anyone to acquire the stuff these days.

I used to buy paracetamol capsules, dump the paracetamol out and pack them full of resin and into a med bottle. Take 2 and something fatty like pizza, cheese, yoghurt and bingo, plus no obvious smell
 
Oh gp I saw today went thru everything said my bloods from last year showed my vit D off the bottom of the scale, he said you were prescribed wrong dose last time round (400 units a day). He's prescribed me more vit D at 40,000 units a day :O
