Careful talc it can't be one rule for one and different rules for others. The government is very keen to erode our rights. We will all be micro chipped soon.

no you can't - I was at an England v Pakistan test match at Old Trafford just after the Oldham riots and a young(under 10) English kid was told by a steward to stop flying his flag at the front of the stands. The young kid with the Pakistan flag 5 yards away was allowed to fly his. Then when I left the stadium there were several youths of Asian origin had a police mini bus surrounded - they were banging on the doors, bonnet etc and giving the coppers lots of gestures and foul mouth abuse. The coppers just sat and took it - now if they had been miners...mmmh that's another story

I have no doubt that the riots meant that there was an ultra sensitive approach by the stewards and police but that kid should have been allowed to fly his flag otherwise these b*****ds that preach hatred/terrorism are winning and forcing a wedge between sections of the community

Flag - not a bother. Big stick it was on could be a canny weapon.

There is no law against you flying the flag of this country or waving it. Especially at a sporting event involving our country. Utter tosh.

You calling me a liar - or do you mean he should have been allowed to fly his flag?

Not at all a steward does not represent the law. I'd have kept waving my flag. No LAW against it! Scare mongering and utter rubbish to suggest otherwise. You are free to walk this entire country dressed as a union flag if you so wish. The union flag has never been so popular, they are selling it as cushions, bedding, towels what ever you want, I've seen cars sprayed in the union flag. The far right want you to believe you are not allowed to show the flag, to get your hatred and anger up to increase their membership etc. It is a myth. Why not try it tomorrow. Drape a union jack over your shoulders, wander wherever you want. As long as you behave yourself and are not abusive etc. AT NO POINT WILL YOU BE ARRESTED OR ASKED TO REMOVE IT!

Sorry CT - I took it the wrong way I though you meant I was talking utter tosh about the steward doing that - as I say I think they were ultra sensitive as the Oldham riots had just occurred

Beware the propaganda of the right wing! I'm seeing friends fall for this **** and keep trying to drag them back to reality. The BNP and EDL are no more friends of this country than Al Queda! Both groups thrive off each other.
I think the lesson to be learnt from posts like these is avoid knee jerk reactions, take a step back and put some rational thought into your response. Be a free thinker not a sheep.

Never mind the response, better if people didn't post this stuff in the first place. This is a football forum after all. Given the recent fuss over Paulo's political views, it would be better if we didn't associate ourselves further with anything like this.
