5' 10". Was 5' 11" when I joined the Army back in '89 but I appear to have lost an inch. So her indoors tells me anyways.
Yes it was more of a North/South divide thingy. With the Lancastrians being more popular north of Ye olde Watforde Gape

The finalists have been picked: http://andystrangeway.wordpress.com/east-riding-flag/ I whittled mine down to 3 (below), but you could only send one in, so sent in the 3 shades of green one. But my entry wasn't chosen as a finalist When this competition was first announced, I thought it'd be quite cool if City bought into this idea - they could use it to attract more fans across the East Riding by adopting the colours of the flag as an away kit, or more likely... as a third kit?
There's only option D that's not embarrassing, the rest look like the flag of a West African republic.
The judges to pick the finalists were made up of a panel from: Beverley Civic Society, East Riding Civic Society, The Flag Institute and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.... they've obviously seen something the rest of us haven't. My 3 shades of green was a different shade to represent: agriculture, the wolds, and the areas future in green energy. The two blue bands were to represent one for our waterways (Hull, Humber, North Sea) and one for our maritime/fishing history. But it seems the most important part to the judges was making the flag look like a diagram/map of the area.
