Have you done a check for Malware yet? if its running on your PC increasing the virtual memory will speed you machine up but it wont stop the Malware infecting your system and registry.
Glad you posted this Billy, some useful tips, still have a old Time Machine lap top, thirteen or fourteen years old, it runs XP, will dig it out of the loft when I get home next, and have a play.
