So I'm very proud of the girl. The interview started at 9.15 am and she left at 1.30 pm. She was interviewed by the Head, Dep Head, Head of History and one other. She then had to teach a history lesson on lynching Apparently the 'feedback' from the boys was "very positive". Dirty little ****s She still intends to do the PhD if she gets the distinction in her master's. Thanks for everyone's kind words
So mate. Top, top, top, top, top school in the 'Pool. %age Grade A passes at A level (out of c.2000 schools nationwide) Merchant Taylors' - 64% Placed 93rd nationally Blue Coat - 56% Placed 158th nationally Read it and weep
My eldest got in to BC 20 years ago mate Also those results are for 80 pupils at MT and 180 at BC. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...compare-your-schools-performance.html#compare http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...0-secondary-schools-by-GCSE-results-2013.html - Ranked 8th in the country http://www.telegraph.co.uk/educatio...econdary-schools-by-A-level-results-2013.html - Ranked 35 in country MT don't make top 100!
I think exam results is one area that the rags can't lie about so doesn't really matter which one you choose as link. You chose a stat for A A* grade only - 80 pupils v 180 pupils http://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/h...l-league-tables-cambridge-qualifying-standard 155>170 Anyway mate all good fun, your girl's got a great job at a great school you must be really proud.
Yes mate . Good fun. I had a good old chat with her about it last night. She loves the place. Said all the staff were really pleasant and the lads were great. Really keen to learn. Excellent facilities too, as you'd expect for somewhere that costs the ones that pay nearly £11,000 a year It's only an hour on the train from Warrington to Waterloo as well
It is a lovely school in a nice location, which when compared internally to BC [back in the day, modernised now] there was a big difference. My lad actually came 2nd in the exam and both him and the lad who came 1st ended up at BC. The other lad was also a whole year younger - I don't know if they still allow that., starting senior school age 10! Your daughter will love it
But flying the flag for the region and featuring in the country’s top 200 schools are: The Blue Coat grammar school, Wavertree; Upton Hall School for Girls, Upton, and Merchant Taylors’ School, Crosby. Simply the best
I've just google imaged MT Crosby to see if it's still how I remember it, there's a pic of the head teacher - he looks about 10
