Afternoon guys, have been drawn out from the shadows for this...will try not to scurry off again in a hurry.

Gimme Shelter is the only one. Please, whoever knows someone in the right places, or knows the head of St Mary's Choir For YungUnz & WrongUnz or whatever, try and make this happen. Originality is a rare beast at St Mary's and the fact he love the Stones makes this a complete no-brainer.

It fits. It works. It's easy.

Also after CBK requested lyrics for A Horse With No Name, I did a first draft in my lunchbreak...not Osvaldo-related (although he's in it) and it doesn't quite fit to the lyrics, but a little story of the last few years. Feel free to rip it a new one! Or change it!

On the first part of the journey
We were looking at League 1
There was Rickie and Morgan and Jose Fonte
There was Kelvin and Adam and Punch
The first thing we did was get to Wemb-er-ly
and won the JPT crown
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
And we made a wall of sound

You see we've been through the troubles and we're back again now
It feels good to be out of the rain
And you - you'll remember our name
And there ain't no-one that can give us no pain

La la laaa....etc

After two seasons in the depths of League One:
the Championship, our bread.
Still with Rickie and Morgan and Fonte,
Still with Kelvin and Adam and Punch
And the story they told as their football flowed,
and took us up two times in a row

You see we've been through the troubles and we're back again now
It feels good to be out of the rain
And you - you'll remember our name
And there ain't no-one that can give us no pain

La la laaaa...etc

Thanks to Marcus, and the Don Cortese
We've risen again past Pompey
Still with Rickie and Morgan and Jose Fonte,
Still with Kelvin and Adam and Punch
And now with Dejan, Osvaldo and the Big Wanyama
Shaw and Prowse representing the youth
Premier League: there's a storm passing through
We're Southampton and we're coming for you

You see we've been through the troubles and we're back again now
It feels good to be out of the rain
And you - you'll remember our name
And there ain't no-one that can give us no pain

La la laaaa...etc

Ta

Blimey, that's one hell of a first post. Well played.

There was me thinking I had thought of 'gimme shelter' first and the chap on Saintsweb posted 6 hours before me....doh. Obvious choice though I thought. Have to settle for first on here

Go ultra style and have some nutter at the front with a megaphone facing everyone and leading the chants.

If we wanted a longer version we could start the chant with....

Oh, a storm is coming,
To to your defence today,
A six foot tall Italian tornado
Is going to blow you away
Osss-valdo, he's going to score today,
It's just a shot away.

Might be a bit complicated but no more so than Rickie's song.

Ah, one of my favourite pages of the Kama Sutra

But Artur is needed on the pitch...!

Stick Titus Bramble and Pascal Cygan in the back and they'll get no shots on goal anyway.

I heard Boruc doesn't have a water bottle and scarf behind the goal, but a flair and as smokebomb. See, Chapel, he didn't throw his bottle at you, he was trying to add a bit of atmosphere. Bring your gas masks next time.

Love the Gimme Shelter chants, really simple and effective, and his favourite band. Thought of another alternative today though....

I Love Rock N' Roll

We saw him scoring there out in Ital-yyy
We knew he was gonna wear number seventeen
Talks were goin' strong
Now we're singin' Dani's song
An' we could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he would score, for Saints
And we could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he would score, for Saints... singin'

We love Os-valdo!
So put another goal on the scoreboard, baby
We love Os-valdo!
He's gonna take you on and score today!

Thoughts?

Ha its not the best but i think the tune would work on the terraces! (looks like the winner is gimme shelter anyways)

His name is Dani & he's strengthened our attack
He chose the number 17 to wear on his back
O-Si's going to score a goal when he gets the chance
I have to rub my eyes after one of Osi's goals!

*repeat*

The chorus is actually very good. I'd let you put another dime in the duke box ...

To 'Satisfaction'

Dani Osvaldo of Southampton
Dani Osvaldo he's perfection
He will try and he tries and he tries and he tries
Dani Osvaldo – OS VAL DO
When he takes us to the stars
With Mauricio Pochettino
He is scoring more and more
Gaining so much admiration
With fire and imagination
Dani Osvaldo – OS VAL DO
Hey hey hey that’s what we say
Dani Osvaldo – OS VAL DO

I think "Start Me Up" would sound the best reverberating around the terraces, also fits his name fairly well:

Start him up
If you start him up
Dani Osvaldo give it all you got, you got, you got
You can't compete with the skill he's got in his feet
If you set him up
If you set him up, he'll score a goal
He made Lamela cry
His feet are great, The best I've seen
His beard is Jesus
He's a goal, goal machine

Original lyrics as follows:

Start it up
If you start it up
Kick on the starter give it all you got, you got, you got
I can't compete with the riders in the other heats
If you rough it up
If you like it you can slide it up, slide it up
Don't make a grown man cry
My eyes dilate, my lips go green
My hands are greasy
She's a mean, mean machine
