At last someone on this site is facing up to what might happen rather then pretending that all in the Charlton garden is lovely.Everything may turn out well if a new backer can be found,but if he/she can't there are difficult times ahead.Clubs like Rangers and Portsmouth were recruiting players up to the point of Administration,look where they are now.
Maybe we are heading for the rocks maybe not, I don't know. Internet gossip is not a reliable source of information. In Richard Murray's final years, on the other hand , it was clear from the accounts which were public knowledge that we were headed for the rocks, which some of us were saying for some time. Maybe someone has genuine information, who knows? If so it doesn't justify using this forum to use the sort of offensive language which frankly has spoiled a wonderful forum, hopefully only temporarily.
Thats it FHB - I think genuine information is being ruined by others who replicate the stories and add their own twists. There seem to be more sources than CAFC fans!!
All I can add to this is to say I am very much with WWOCB on this! I have no sources in the club, giving me positive or negative information. And trying to be objective (in case i haven't mentioned, I make a living of being objective as a scientist) you cannot formulate a for or against the club being in trouble from the evidence being presented. It seems to me after what was an exceptionally busy season for our club, the lack of news has maybe been surprising. Remember CAFC is a owned by a business and will be run as such. We have no divine right to know what the board are doing, and while a FC's relationship with its customers is different from say that of WHSmith and bookbuyers, we will not be told everything which is going on. So unfortunately get used to the filler that is being put on the site and the constant speculation that about behind the scenes deals. I do find it sad that two groups of people who both cheer when BWP scores again can be so vicious towards each other. It must be great being a palace fan and going on our boards at the moment.
this ostrich wants to know how we are going to pay Stevenage for Wilson if the backer has pulled his money out? Call me an ostrich and use colourful language if you must but if the backer has pulled his money out where has the money for Wilson come from?
In the film "Oh God" George Burns(as God) admitted that he had made one or two mistakes, and cited the ostrich as an example. In the context of this debate it takes on a new meaning.

So my continued support and signing up for a season ticket again was clearly just because i am a plastic ostrich isn't it, got nothing to do with the fact i love the club regardless. I was merely saying that i have not heard anything regarding there being no money. If you think it makes me delusional not to take it as gospel that a bloke who knows a bloke told you that a bloke that nobody knows has now gone and wont be spending any more money then so be it, but personally i disagree. I am not sat here thinking we are the next man city, i just do not see any solid evidence to back these claims up as of yet. Amazed that some of you seem to think waiting until all the info is out so we can all see the full picture before acting like i know everything is being an ostrich, obviously the supporters are split on this. Only thing is those of you who are saying we are in trouble also seem to be acting like school kids and having little pops at anyone who dares to say they would rather wait to hear an official club response on the matter before panicking. No need for it on this site
And another. I've been keeping very quiet of late. As a lurker on cL and an active participant on here the last couple of weeks have been very depressing. I don't doubt that there may be some issues but until I hear the facts I'll bask in the fading glory of last season. When the time comes I'll panic if that is in order. I won't however take any part in petty silly buggers. Nor will I watch it destroy a forum that I have come to rely on as a source of relaxation and virtual friendship. Sort it (and yourselves) out those of you who need to please.
