He is! John succeeded John Prichard, but only for a short time. He was succeeded by Steve Maddock, who was on the Ospreys’ Board for a couple of years.
Does Cuddy still live on the old road from Trallwyn to Skewen? Matt You're from Bonymaen yes? the reason i'm asking is my great great grandmother is buried in that old chapel overlooking Bonymaen Football club, Adulam I think it's called, old baptist chapel i think.................
Phil yes its called Adulam on Cefn Road ( the posh part of Bonymaen ) , Bon y maen park is indeed the home of Bon y maen Colts and once boasted as having the finest Senior league pitch in Swansea and fear some reputation for hard but fair footballers (but I'm sure you knew that )
Someone on Twitter saying that it’s going to be confirmed that a merger between Ospreys and Scarlets is taking place with games in Llanelli and training in Swansea. Not sure if this a load of bollox.
Hopefully bollocks but times are hard ,no surprise if the Turks become the dominate "partner", Parc y Scarlets will become the spiritual home due to having two stadiums 20 miles a part and no real income from the Ospreys .
I can back up that Never. I've heard the same from an international rugby player who played during the 6Ns Going to be announced Sunday. Turks and Ospreys are in discussions as we speak.
What’s the implications for The Swans, now that we have taken over the running of the stadium, that’s a revenue hole for the Yanks in rent.
Hard but fair!!!!!!.................. I remember a Cardiff Scout coming to watch my oldest play, when he was at Garden village, we were away to Bonymaean, what a mistake, the ref yellow carded and red carded Bonymaen all game long, my son scored the only goal of the game, and as a result the Bonymaen rent a mob pelted us with stones as we left the grounds to Ty-draw road, the Cardiff scout legged before half time!!!............
What’s the point of a North Wales team, nobody will support a team up there. So kill of the most successful region just to put a team up north. They tried with rugby league and that failed.
Another question, what happens to the current crop of Ospreys players. Are they divid up? I understand the internationals will move to the new team, but surely by merging players from both clubs will in effect be made surpluses to requirement and released. Redundancy will then entail with backroom staff two into one won’t go. Sad day if this goes through.
Exactly. It will die a quicker death than the regions down here. Hopefully it will be the beginning of the end. I want to see proper rugby and proper Armospheres and rivalries returning.
It’s no big deal for the Yanks - indeed, it could be beneficial as Premier Club income is allocated between both the Swans and the Ospreys despite the vast majority of members only being there because of the Swans! This proposed merger is taking place on the same day as the WRU announced it had secured a new line of credit of £40m from NatWest, replacing Barclays. I was told a year ago that there was a risk that the O’s were being stitched up ......
