Does not seem to be much crowd there. Expensive trip too......it dont come easy. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/41390345
Dai - I've looked at the Ospreys' Accounts on the Companies House website - trust me, they do not have much cash. Their squad might be the costliest of the 4 Regions but compared to the French & English they are paupers.
They must have money to afford the squad of players they have...It's common knowledge they are the wealthiest out of the 4 regions.
Dai - they have probably lost the least amount of money of all the 4 Regions, but lost money they have. They have cumulative losses, and lost money in the last Financial Year posted at Companies House. The majority of their funding comes from the WRU, Pro14 & European competition - and just as in football, the majority goes on the players.
Your wrong and miles wrong at that....They have some of the most luxurious deals with the WRU and have the best of the best of backers than any rugby club in the world and should on paper be able to beat anyone but they need a better coach than Tandy thats for sure. The scarlets who dont have as much financial backing are showing the way forward because they have the right coach.....But it has taken a good few seasons to get things right. The Ospreys cant afford to take as long and will have to act soon.....There has been too much money invested by the WRU and the backers to allow the poor form to continue....
Actually Dai - I'm not wrong. I know all of the Ospreys Directors (Blyth, Atherton, Richards, Maddock, Millward & Cuddy) as well as both main shareholders (Davies & James) They do have cumulative losses, and they did lose money in the last Financial Year posted in Companies House.
and have the best of the best of backers than any rugby club in the world Dai do you mean financial backing? I think they lag behind a lot of other clubs, take Saracens as an example where Nigel Wray has pumped £25m into that club
What has he done previously to deserve this accolade? He's turned the Ospreys into a joke under his charge.
Not going to knock Tandy and co as they've been great for us in the past but now the future's not looking so good and its time for them to go. Ospreys were always an edgy intimidating team who could get nasty when needed. Unfortunately, all that grunt we had which earned our reputation has been coached away. Our current batch of players, especially the new ones, are 'tidy' rugby players but that's all. None have any 'dog' in them and so they are being beaten up by teams from Italy and the Saffers who we should be beating off the pitch. We dont play heads up rugby any more we conform to a game plan even when its not working and we dont have gutsy players who are going to get pissed off and diviate from the plan when its not working. We need those players who will fight when things go wrong but the ones we've got have been over coached to do their job and not think on their feet. I think we need to go get a coach, southern hemisphere? English? don't care as long as he's a bastard with a chip on both shoulders, not necessarily famous but with plenty of attitude and hwyl. To play beautiful rugby we need to be brutal in certain areas and we need a coaching team who will coach the dog back into our tidy pack.
First 40 mins were the best performance so far this season. Yet again failed to take our chances, with no cutting edge behind. We need a creative 10. As Biggar is off, now is the time to make Sam first choice fly-half. We need to know if he is going to be good enough - need to build for next season from now.
