what confused me at the turn of the year 2013 when oneil was here was he liked to play solid set ups and hitting teams on the break as he did at villa ,now having said that cambell the fastest player we had and was back to fitness was given away as such and replaced with dg who at best is medium paced in comparison , if frazier was still here i think he would be doing better than fletch due to injuries and jozy for sure ,i know its all what ifs and buts ,i think borrini could be played in this slot imo

    Couldn't agree more mate.
I was over the moon when MON was appointed, nearly as pleased as Cest at the appointment.
Everything about his tenure was dire and as you say we were getting worse and worse.

But I don't know why I bother arguing with Cest on managers, after all he continually derided and disparaged Martinez every chance he got, a bloke who did a hell of a job at Wigan with very limited resources, managing to keep them in the Prem with mediocre players. The difference he has made to Everton is unbelievable, he has made them twice the team they were.

    But opinions eh?

    Ok stop it!

I'm agreeing with you again, I'm still not sure whether Borini is the answer but we have to give him a go.

Pretty much sums it up for me. The opening game against Fulham we played arguably the best we have done all season (including anything under Gus). Di Canio's only flaw was his man-management imo (as pointed out, massively exacerbated by the lazy twats at the club), and I reckon he will learn from that sharpish and end up being a decent manager.

I think they could have got him sacked without doing their talking on the pitch. Seems so little faith in a fantastic owner who leaves £1800 tips in local restaurants. It's very sad you think those pathetic spineless performances is an acceptable means to an end. remember how we played against Fulham? From that day till paolo was rightly sacked, those ****s ****ed us fans well and truly up the arse and they're still trying to undo that damage. If we did get relegated it will those performances that got us relegated. Not being banned from talking to the tea lady.

Not read all of this as I have not had time but:

    Agree 100%

    And

Well said we would be in the championship not if it was not for PDC.

PDC deserves a little respect, he made it tough for the players and it was about time too.

MON is the man who ruined our club and took us to the brink not PDC.

apart from the Newcastle game, I would definitely say we played worse. I would also say that in hindsight, MoN would have secured the very few points we needed to stay up.
I have agreed 100% with Cest over PDC. I could not believe he got the job in first place. It was a disaster waiting to happen. I will be staggered if any club employs this nutter. Simply no man management skills at all.
I have taken a few negative comments in the past over PDC...but I am yet to be convinced otherwise that he was the worst manager we have ever had in my time watching our club..that includes Wilkinson and McMenemy.

I still don't rate Martinez. I watched Everton last night. Tippy tappy football the same as with Wigan with no punch and got a draw. We couldn't beat a David Moyes Everton in 10 years. We beat a Matinez one Shen we are at our worst.

His teams have a soft belly. Moyes had Everton top 5 or 6 before Martinez so how has he improved them exactly?

Well I am a maths bloke at work and everyone here knows that, when it comes to football, 2+2 makes 6. Unless you work for the daily mail of course!!

My opinion - look at what ****e Di Canio has spouted since his sacking. He was too good for us? If he was that good why is he currently not managing in Seria A? Why aren't Lazio knocking?

Hi self inflated ego was the problem. If he had belief in himself and didn't belittle others then great - but if my boss treated me the way he did some of the players, I'd be doing him for bullying and harrassment. The players weren;t exactly painting a pretty picture of themselves but, let's face it, who would put in 100% to their job when, no matter how well you've played, you get told you're ****e?

If Di Canio was still here I reckon we'd be lucky to have 2 points now. Poyet came in and made a massive difference with the same players. That's not a coincidence - it's knowing how to manage players

David moyes has never won a thing his whole managerial career.

Martinez has already won the fa cup in his short career.

In management it's all about the trophy cabinate I'm afraid.

Rubbish - Trophies no longer mean anything now - Money rules and 4th place in the premier league means much more to a football club regime than any trophy does - it's only the fans that prefer trophies - and even then - how many of our own are choosing "stay up" rather than "League cup win" if offered one or the other?

Prize money for winning the FA Cup = £3m (ish) - £1.8m for winning the final.

Prize money for finishing 4th bottom of the premier league £50+m.

Prize money for winning the league cup = £100k? As a businessman you'd be crazy to say "let's pile everything on winning the league cup" with that in mind - Prize money for winning the final would hardly cover a league 1 sides weekly wage bill

In PDC 1st month is charge, he worked a miracle in getting us to survive. The players after MONs reign were unfit for service.

    Credit to him for that.

However, I am f**king glad the players got rid of them when they did. The man patted himself on the back when things went right, but when things went wrong he blamed the players. He destroyed the team morale with senseless rules, public rants and sheer lunacy.

If a manager (any kind of manager) loses the morale of their team, upsets the workforce and loses their respect then they are a **** manager; and they (the workforce) should be applauded for taking steps to ensure the long term health of the company (team) by escalating it to the director. it applies to football, IT, factories or anywhere else. Hell, I know if our team had an issue with our line manager, we would go to the powers that be and explain the situation. The director would step in to take whatever action deemed necessary to resolve the issue.

Do the people on here having a pop at the players for doing this really think that Short would have sacked PDC on the players word only? He would have investigated the situation and made his own call on what to do.

Whatever happened behind the scenes, it is clear that Short felt it was necessary to take the action he did. I am pretty confident Short isnt a pushover, and wouldnt have sacked PDC without investigating fully - regardless of what the players said or did.

for gods sake, O'Shea is used to SAFs treatment - I am 100% confident that JOS did not throw a paddy just cos a manager had a shout one or two times. After playing under SAF, I reckong the situation would have had to be pretty bad for JOS to take it to Short.

We'd be cast adrift with zero chance of staying up if he was still here - we are 1 point from safety and only 6 points from 10th. Too tight to call with this many games left.

You're just pissed off at his celebration when we hammered you 3-0 in your own back yard

His criticism of the players was fully justified imo but should have been kept in doors.
