They rebelled to save this club from the mad ****er and you just called them all ****s mate?

My point is that ALL players from EVERY era won't try their best for a manager they cant stand or who treats them like ****e which is why managers get sacked at football clubs and then new ones get a different set of performances and results from the same players.

The 73 team were not playing under Alan Brown and he was sacked in November 72 after 2 failed promotion campaigns. Stokoe was appointed and a different style produced a Cup win 6 months later. Were they trying for Brown? Were they all ****s as well or are they all legends as they won the cup?

Players play for good managers. PDC wasn't a good manager. Its not a hard concept to grasp mate and hardly a shocking one either.

So then Cest, look at our last 4 home games under Gus.

    What gives?

Now I 100% back Gus and believe he is the best manager since Reid, will go on to be better than, but this dig at Di Canio ****e is getting to sound like bollocks.

It wasn't all Di Canio's fault. simple, fact.

Our comeback though was straight out of the new Poyet era. Thats the difference.

The reason we are that far short is a combination of the past 3 managers not investing in enough quality Pecs. Thats not Gus Poyets fault and I am sure that this will be changed under his leadership. As for my feeling about the players performances of course I had a pop at them and having a pop at the players has been happening for 100 years and will continue to be the case but I was very vocal about where I thought the problem lay from very early on and fell out with quite a few on here arguing against PDC.

There is only so much Poyet can do with this squad but in adding 4 or 5 players (he has brought in 2 this window to start it off) and flushing out the non performers such as Ji, Cabral, Graham etc and working better with his current squad we have clawed our way to the survival race and reached a cup semi final.

PDC could never have even begun to establish that kind of base from his hand left from Martin.

Catts seems to be either the bees knees one week or total ****e the next with nothing in between..I got a load of stick on here a few weeks back for stating that I thought Colback was a better all round player than him..

well to be fair cest you did voice your concerns even before a ball was kicked and indeed pointed out the dangers of his appointment, but in the same way you defended martin to the end and refused to accept what a disaster he was in the same manner ,but hey thats what this forum is for,i dont think anybody is unhappy with the present manager as a person ,the selection and tactics will always be a talking point thats why we post .

Cest, you are relating this to Gus, I am relating this to the players, not Gus, so whether or not Gus was here is immaterial.

Facts are, many of the players that continually let down the club remain, many have done so in the last 4 or 5 games.

Fortunately, the players of any standard we have are standing tall for Gus and carrying us through. You cannot polish a dog ****, Ellis needs to stop wasting money on polish.

I know you had concerns all the way from PDC, but lets not pretend and drag it back to him, Poyet himself has more or less said some of the players are nowhere near it, but they are still here

With the same players and taking the club at possibly one of the lowest points in recent history Poyet has won and average of 1.13 pts per game from his 14 games, to PDC 0.2 points per game (this season) 0.6 points per game from his 15 games.

More than double the results with the same team/squad. The problem was all PDC's making 100%.

I admit I wanted MoN desperately to succeed mate and maybe couldn't see the wood for the trees on him. The difference here is that it was obvious to a blind man that PDC was making a complete hash of proceedings and had to be got rid of. If the players played a part in that then there is no shame in that imo.
