Typical Saints. I`m in a state of depression about VVD`s injury, now a wave of euphoria about Romeu signing. I wouldn`t swap him for two Wanyama`s - what a nice boost before tomorrow`s game, and a vote of confidence
I'm saying we have signed a player that we already have. It's nice for Romeu and I don't begrudge him this as he's a smashing fella. In reality, it keeps him here until the end of this season and if a team comes in for him in the summer, we can command a slightly higher transfer fee.
Paul Merson suggested the other week he was off in the summer.........well stick in your pipe Merson.
Totally with you on this CBK. This is good news. But we must be careful not to get carried away. The world is very unfair and we are only one new story away from a terrible week. So even though this is good news now, in time there will be bad news to get all upset about. However, on balance, with this news the terrible week is being held at bay for a little while so I welcome this signing.
Excellent news indeed. He's a player that I really like - he's improving all the time and it's great that he's happy to sign on for a (potentially) longer patch. Good stuff.
Yeah, I like this deal. Four years is about perfect. I don't think giant clubs are knocking at the door for him just yet, but to be honest he wouldn't sign if they were. There is a chance however, that in another season they might be. Or, he could still get himself some European action and a bit of a pay increase with a slightly bigger club than us. This deal gives us a bit more security in terms of him staying or getting a better price. And we lock him up for all his prime years, and not any of the decline if he stays so we aren't extending ourselves too much and taking a risk with the contract length. Seems like a win for both player and club.
Been the heartbeat of the team this season, may spark a little controversy by saying I think he's been better all round than VVD... although it's a very close call. Romeu is Mr Consistent, very reliable, has shown a great work ethic in grafting since Chelsea and then when he came into the squad, he had a player ahead of him who was technically less able, less consistent and wantaway in VW.

I think his time at Chelsea has made him appreciate the increasing role he's been given here. In turn he's proved right the fact that regular games can really improve some players. Very pleased with this news.
I've been hoping for this for some time. He's as core to us as Morgan was and I worried that he was running his contract down. I think we're in for a good summer this year - call me a wild optimist by all means but if we also extend Maya I don't see anyone going. Vin
