Any larkers on here that were in attendance at this fixture.

I think it was 1984 and City losing 4-1 until the comeback of all comebacks.

Yes, me. Though similar claims in the past from others would put the away attendance in the tens of thousands.

Yep.

Brian Horton's first season and I'm pretty sure he was playing too.

There was a few hundred from City and everyone on the perimeter fence when the 5th went in.

Wasn't there but can remember where I was.

Prossie Centre.

Looked in the window of Rumbleows or similar to see we were 4-1 down.

Next time I passed, final score and it gave my heart a little boost.

If I remember we were out shopping for an engagement ring or some such gubbins.

Yes I was there, remember you could drink in the grounds then, as we were losing we had more than usual. When the 5 th goal went in one of the lads kissed the Scottish copper who was in attendance with us.I remember the copper at the beginning of the game saying you lot should be beat these as he came down every home game.
Walking back to the tube some Orient fans tried to jump us but we were that pissed we didn’t care just kept on walking.Happy days City Southern Supporters club

I was there, bit of an incident going back to the station after the match, which was the norm in those days.

Think Stan McEwan scored the pen to level at 4 each and then realised we had plenty of time to get a winner . Can still visualise Flounders at the far post with an easy tap in for the winner at the end with no stand I think . I was in the side stand with bench type seats with my brother and some of the psycho lads and recall one of our fans on the pitch doing a cartwheel when the winner went in.We then went on a great run of results that pushed us into the promotion spots .

i remember reading somewhere - possibly ci - that we scored 5 against orient at home and away that season.

#me too

At the last minute some mates inc Dave L opted to attend Upton Park where EFC were the visitors

Met up afterwards at Charing X and heard they'd seen a 0-0, and they couldn't believe it when they hard what went on at Brisbane Rd!

A great night had by all afterwards in the West End

RIP L*mby

Totally uncanny this post.
I had had a few beers in town that afternoon and went to the Electrical store that is now Greggs jyst outside Prospect to check the scores.
As the teleprinter was slowly rolling along and it showed Orient 4 I thought bloody hell. Couldn' t believe it as it rolled and showed Hull City 5.
