I'd be careful what you wish for with Bellamy. He doesn't score many and is nowhere near the player he was when with us, or anywhere near as quick. He looked poor at Cardiff. Bobby had him playing out of his skin. He's a dickhead too, there's no two ways about it. He actually had the nerve recently to blame our fans for Bobbys sacking. There is no doubt some idiots did want him sacked but they were a vast minority. What Craig seems to forget is that it was actually the likes of himself, Dyer, Jenas who got Bobby sacked. Dyer may not be too popular in these parts after how sour it ended, but at least he was man enough to admit that him, Jenas, Titus, Bellers had behaved like bellends under Bobby, saying he cringed when he looked back at how they behaved. Said his single biggest regret was refusing to play right wing against Boro. He intimated he knew they'd cost him his job but were too young to know better. Obviously Bellers will have grown up too but his refusal to accept he was out of order when here suggests he's still a huffy so and so. His behaviour with Shearer after he left was embarrassing. I think Sunderland can do better than Bellars without much trouble. I'd be wanting someone hungrier and less of a risk personality wise. SWP is a bit of a funny one because its hard to know where he is at after not getting much game time (impressive pre season supposedly). But I agree he does often look a bit of a headless chicken. He is pacy though.
I'd imagine he's at least managed to kick the "habit" him, Dyer and friends had when with us! You reckon he can come back to his best? If he wasn't such a bellend I'd feel sorry for him. He joined the revolution at Citeh only to see the manager sacked and him discarded despite being their player of the season. He's then made a poor decision to go to Cardiff, and its been all downhill from there. I just think at 32 with degenerate knee problems which requires him to train in his own way, I'm not sure there's anyway back. I'm surprised with Sunderland and these oldies, seems a strange policy. Did you guys buy a left back in the end? I like Richardson but only as a midfielder. Disappointing for you guys he hasn't kicked on more.
His experience would be vital for us. He doesn't like to lose, and can play a couple of positions well. I'd be happy IF we could get him, He'd be great for us, considering what options we have up front at the moment, which is mainly potential. Apart from Gyan.
Was reading that sentence thinking "nothing up front" and then you mentioned him at the end. Love to have Gyan put it that way. Problem with Bellers is you seem to have a bunch of lads who aren't bellends. He can upset any applecart and I think Blackburn was the only place he managed to avoid it (there for such a short time). I suppose looking at it you're a bit short but I like Wickham. The Asian kid I must admit I wouldn't have a clue about but they are usually tidy footballers. Obviously Welbeck is the big miss from last year and you could do with mobility. I think Bellers would be a bad buy and as much as we're rivals I wouldn't wish him on you, but then again who else is there. You'd never get the likes of Defoe up here.
Nice discussion mate, thanks, I hear what your saying about Bellamy, but i think he'd be good for us, and hoping your wrong, but we'll see. Maybe not even get him anyway, but he's a cracking player for some team... Welcome to to Mackem board anytime from me.......... Watch out for for Dong-Won..................i hope, i have a hunch he's gonna be good...........just a hunch...
I agree. If you want as many goals as possible, Bellamy isn't the bloke you need. He was a 1 in 3 striker when he was in his prime with us at best, but he's dropped down to a 1 in 4 striker at EPL level now. He's a good partner to help an existing striker score more goals, but when it comes to goals from the guy himself, they aren't as regular as you might hope.
