Remember about 4/5 seasons ago when Michael Owen was out for the season and Alan Shearer's injury against Sunderland ended his career. We only had Shola Ameobi and Michael Chopra as our strikers and they played week in, week out after that

Chopra didn't do too well but Shola was banging them in, we ended up finishing 7th and got into the Intertoto Cup - maybe Shola thrives on the responsibility of being number 1 striker, we will have to wait and see

But its not all doom and gloom, this time last year Carroll only had 3 Championship goals to his name, now he has gone for £35m. Really funny game football lol

I am optimistic for our future, we can wait till the summer and buy 1 or 2 good forwards, at least we haven't got any panic buys (Xisco, Gonzalez etc)

Lol. If he plays with determination every game for now until the end of the season, then I can see him getting another 5 or 6 goals which will be a good return with how many games we have left. Leon Best needs to start finding the net also
