1 goal. We drew 1-1 and 0-0 with Swansea. Dyer didn't get up to much other than slotting away a one on one.
Aaron Lennon ran rings around us. We gave him far too much respect and were scared to tackle. He gets my vote, even though I personally think he's crap.
Right, I've been a little busy in the last few days so haven't cracked on with this, but have also been thinking about how to move forward. Considering I think we can all agree this is the weakest position in the XI with no real stand-out candidates, it seems a bit of a waste to have an average performer in the team whilst there are several players who put in very good performances at CM and ST for example that will miss out, thus I have been pondering a formation change. Basically we can do two things, alter the formation to a 4-3-3 with either a three strikers up top and a midfield consisting of a LM/LW and two CMs or a 4-3-3 with three CMs and a LM/LW along with two strikers up top, or just accept that whichever right-mid we vote in will have had pretty average performances and continue with the standard 4-4-2. Or if anyone else has any ideas I would be very happy to hear them. Thoughts everyone?
Odemwingie scored 2 goals against us and played very well. This certainly wasn't an average performance. I don't really see how he isn't a stand out or at least a quality performance.
Indeed, I thought he played well too but only people who have mentioned him have been yourself and Schad, probably biggest problem is that he only played in one of the two games. Happy to put it to a vote, just thought I'd see what everyone thinks as the general opinion has been that there weren't (m)any great performances on the right wing against us last season.
Long was playing striker. They played 4-2-3-1 with Odemwingie on the right http://soccermetrica.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/west-brom-overload-southamptons-left.html http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/615013/Live
Valencia was good against us at St. Mary's but I think that comes down to Danny Fox's incompetence. My vote goes to Dyer as he was dangerous in both games when he was on the pitch.
