I'm slightly surprised at how high up Vertonghen is. He looked good in the away game, but I can't say that I really noticed and remember him from the home game.

But then, I guess there are a lack of candidates - for most positions - who stood out home and away.

He played at left back in the home game.

The 12 people who voted for Cuellar were paying attention. He was dominant. Can't fault Vertonghen though.

I think it's laughable he's got so many votes. Played once against us for a team that was practically playing 4-6-0 parking the bus as a whole team and just hoofing the ball away.

I nominated and voted for Cuellar and Jagielka. Surprised O'Shea wasn't nominated enough for this vote too.

There's no doubt in my mind that Cuellar and O'Shea both deserved being nominated based on the game at SMS. But as I've already said, I didn't see the away game so cannot comment on either of their performances away, aside from the simple fact that we only scored one goal in that game.

As I've said Cuellar-O'Shea at home, and Agger-Skrtel away were the stand out one-game partnerships for me.
