I agree. They are all just voting for him because of Alex Ferguson's comments after the game. Ferguson obviously felt the need to sweeten up Scholes considering he came out of retirement and he'd only previously played in the opening day defeat at that point. Van Persie was immense in that game other than the penalty miss and we fell apart after making terrible substitutions.
Entirely not true, I don't even know what Ferguson said after the game, I just know how impressed I was during. I accept Mikey's reasoning for not rating the performance so highly but to dismiss everyone as being categorically wrong because of an interview is different.
As good as Scholes was, I can't go for him because he only did it over about a 30 minute period and against a tired team. Likewise, Mulumbu, Huddlestone and Ireland all really stand out for me, but again none of them even got close to doing it over two games. It's Fellani and one other. I just don't know who.
I am going to go for Ki of Swansea. I don't think any Everton player did themselves justice at St. Mary's.
Fellaini and Mulumbu Both were excellent in 2 games, although I suspect Fellaini cheated as at St Mary's, I swear I saw him head a corner clear towards the halftime and then get on the end of his own header 40 yards away. It seemed like that anyway.
Fellaini is one, definitely - frustratingly brilliant at St Mary's and put in a good shift at Goodison. An interesting point about Scholes from Mikey and I agree - we didn't press them like we do to teams under Pochettino, however good his passing was. Mulumbu only played one game but was brilliant, so Fellaini and Mulumbu are my options.
Despite the fact we battered them for 45 but by the end we were hanging on a bit? That tells me that someone on their team player very well, if only to keep it nil nil at half time.
Fellaini is one. The pundits would say Carrick, but not me. The other midfielder nomination doesn't really shout out to me. I'll go with an English player - Lampard had two pretty good games.
