)I liked Mr Bean, living legend !!
what the hell has the Queen done for us to 'stand' for her. Bollocks to that. She's a tourist attraction for goodness sake.
^this^
Such patriotic bullshit, sycophantic rubbish.
Sure, I like Britain. I like freedom of speech, representation, free press, democracy (well...), peace and relative well-being.
That is nothing to do with clapping and praising an outdated symbol of the past who is so removed from normal life she can't claim to be from the same PLANET as us mere mortals.
Bollocks to her. When will we join the modern age and have an elected head of state? They would do just as much charity work and so on as the Queen does - and it's not like she has a choice to do it or not, and they'd also be a meaningful, powerful figure.
In fact, we don't even need a 'president' so to speak - the Prime Minister has power domestically and over foreign affairs that a president would LOVE to have.
It's a joke, a sad joke that's gone on for so long that we've forgotten to laugh.
She is a symbol of Britain's past, just like the antiquated law that states that catholic's can never be monarch or can never be prime minister.
But when those laws came into being they never knew that in the future multi religious sects would thrive in the country, so there's no law stopping other religions becoming the above, there's nepotism instead.
I wanted to see bloody Sharapova !
Can't stand royalty anywhere.
Enjoyed Dizzy Rascal though, can't think of a more appropriate modern song to represent Britain.
'Bonkers' is eccentric, humorous and original. The music is exciting and fresh and was invented as a genre not too long ago in the same neck of the woods as the Olympic venue.
