Now maybe the only way to solve this is for Swans fans to stay on the Swansea forum and Cardiff fans to stay on the Cardiff forum and never the twain shall meet, no more arguments problem solved.
Happy to go along with that and understand why it is being done. I very much hope some of our great, regular posters who have not been in favour of such action stay with us and at least give it a chance to work.
I think it's a cop out to placate the swans. They get a 24 hrs ban on our board but we get a site ban. Stop pussy footing about. That's me done.
The thread clearly states repeat offenders will get banned for longer periods. If we ban now retrospectively there could be arguments raised for the banning of everyone. A line has been drawn in the sand, everyone knows what is expected and if the nonsense continues it gets sorted as outlined. If certain individuals are as bad as you say, they'll breach the rules and be banned before the day is out. So I really don't see your problem.
The site ban for poster banned on their own boards is a default of the system not a negotiated deal. There is nothing we can do about this default but posters must be aware that is the impact.
Bobby - we can only give it a go. It may not go far enough for some, but it's a reasonable compromise for now. We don't need heavy handed policing by our moderators on this board, but at the same time, doing nothing would mean the continued loss of valuable CCFC posters who are not prepared to put up with the constant disruption. Dave - I hope that "that's me done" line in your post doesn't mean you're leaving the forum. Give it a go for a while, and if this proposed solution doesn't solve the problem, I'll join you. To our moderators - we'll be watching you as much as you will be watching us - OK?
Nice sign of respect for posters that have volunteered their own time to moderate the board for the benefit of other posters such as yourself Why not just leave them to make the decisions that they feel are necessary? Its impossible to please everyone!
With all due respect Gerrez, this is our board not the moderators. Yes, they volunteer their services, but we duly appoint them to act for us. If you don't understand that, you shouldn't be commenting. For the record, I have the greatest respect for all three of ours and have told them so. Get off your high horse and start realising that they have asked us for our opinions on the way forward. They have decided a route between themselves and we hope it works out. Not everyone agrees, but then that's democracy. Like I said, we'll be watching events as they unfold. If any of our three mods are not happy with what I've said, I'm sure they'd tell me and don't need a visiting poster to voice an opinion upon something that has nothing to do with them.

It isn't your board, its Micks website. Fair enough, the board members often vote for mods but again, they are in place on Mick's behalf and not to act in accordance to the users. However, I agree that there needs to be input from the users of each board to keep the harmony and piece. My comment was not from someone on a high horse, it was from someone with experience. The last thing the mods need is to be watched or questioned. Lastly, I don't know you so you could well be a top poster for all I know, I was merely pointing out that "watching the mods" is somewhat disrespectful. Apologies if my comment caused offence
Everyone seems to be a bit touchy at the moment after the last couple of days. IMO our mods do a great job and maybe now we can get back to some sort of normality on here, the last thing we need is fighting amongst ourselves so let's all hug it out.
Gerrez - if you'd offended me pal, I'd have told you. You haven't, and you got a reply that I thought was reasonable - sorry if that offended you. You may have a lot of experience, and they say there's no substitute for that, but you do not have an insight into this board's problems in the way that its' own members do. We have a problem - our mods have asked for suggestions - they have obviously been given them and proposed a way forward. Let's see how it goes. PontBB - if that comment about "bellicose" replies to visiting posters was referring to me, let me know.

That's coming very close to the truth, fair play!............................... For what it's worth, I think you have a very good group of Mods, as do we (and not just Ash), so I don't think you need to watch, or police your own mods, that's absurd!
