I listened to this all the way through and this is what I got from it: 1. his tone was hurried, defensive, apologetic and at times desperate 2. he did not understand why the training ground routines were not transfered to the pitch - IMO if you don´t know this you shouldn´t be managing!! 3. apparently the players are all up for it - are they? 4. he continually repeated that the managemnt team were slow starters and they always got it right in the end - well hey, there is always a first time that you may NOT get it right regardless of the amount of time required. Overall I thought he was trying to convince everyone (including himself) that things will change for the good eventually and pleaded for more time....just like someone ambling along the ´Green Mile´
Isn't it good that he sounded a bit desperate though? That's exactly how we've been feeling. If we're pissed off by the way results are going, surely they're going to be even more frustrated. At least we know that they care...and that they are seemingly doing the right things to fix the problem. Listening to him, i'm not sure what more could be done with regards to set pieces/defending. I've always thought Hughes is probably the calm/collected one whilst Bowen is a bit more emotional and likely to connect with the players on a personal level. It's good that there's that contrast in the management. edit: Does sounds like the ideas are drying up a bit though..
That's what came across to me, in the section I listened to, out of ideas. I'm sure that wasn't intentional.
