Tsunodo is starting to do quite well. Just needs bit more experience in race.

Talk of max having to replace drs actuator with different spec! Doesn't that mean pit lane start if true?

I would have thought they would nick Perez's actuator if poss to stop pit lane start.
Plus Perez had very poor quali so doesn't matter if he starts from pits.

    Ferrari nowhere.

    Aston nowhere.

    Ricciardo nowhere.

Perez nowhere. That's the championship gone for red bull. Merc have the constructors seen up.

The teams who hussle the car around the quick stuff are best. Alonso and gasly brilliant stuff.

There has to be another half second here for mercedes.

Mercedes have the quicker car, Verstappen has got the max out of that car scary how much quicker he is to Perez who is a decent driver

    Game over. Season over.

Real shame to see a competitive season end with a 6 tenth advantage.

That's a very worrying failure there. Kerbs absolutely destroyed his wing and the tyre. Not so sure it's just the wing that shredded the tyre or not from the little replay I saw but who knows.

Need to get out there are tear up those stupid dangerous herbs and use the track limits punishments.

Anyway its favoured verstappen for now but with no support races verstappen could get eaten alive by bottas at the start.

Big start coming and looks complete untroubled for hamilton to win.

Imo in the race with heavy fuel loads the teams are underestimating the tyre wear.

Imo there's a clear difference in message coming from the two teams.

I think verstappen must stay ahead of bottas in the first stage and then his only hope is to go aggressive with pit stops.

Horners seems desperate to say the tyres will be under pressure here all race while both wolf and Hamilton were at pains to say low deg.

I think the biggest bet to make for tomorrow is some engineer saying stay off the kerbs to the drivers

Apparently, Hamilton wasn't even running the new engine and is still 5 tenths faster. Jesus Christ.

    Red Bull needs a miracle.

That's logical, Toto had previously said the last 2 races are where they need the new ICE.
There doesn't seem as much of a top speed difference between Merc and RB this race - maybe that's the ICE or maybe Merc have had to tweak their rear wing after RB have been so vocal on it?

It's great that it's so close at this late stage in the season.

It's great that the points are so close, but we're looking at a very anticlimactic walkover in these last three races with this pace advantage.

I did wonder about Yellows on last quali lap as the on screen seemed to keep alternating between yellow and green.
Didn't they change the rules to say if a yellow is shown everyone's lap times for that lap are deleted?
Just checked and deletion is only under waved level: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/f...-times-set-under-double-yellow-flags/6697216/

So he needs to have lifted sufficiently or he will get a grid penalty!!! Well he will only have himself to blame although Horner will say it's the teams fault!!!!
