Didn't see the game today but at least four better options on the bench than Nolan and Ward and week in week out I don't like much about this back four apart from Pennington. Transfer window is all well and good but some of the selections remain baffling.

Don't we need Sears down the middle, Harrison or Lankester playing off him with Roberts / Edwards wide? I know form has been patchy of those two but still think those are the best options right now. Chalobah and Downes is a decent enough midfield but Dozzell should be in ahead of Nolan all day long.

What's the thinking behind this line up or is Lambert just getting it wrong?

    Cheers San Diego.

Definitely not Sears as the #9 if we're playing just one main striker, doesn't have the hold up play / everything else needed to be a lone 9 I would say.

Lambert must have some logic / reasoning to his line up I suppose Hampy. I honestly don't know as cannot comment on the game, but he's at least got his back 5 / usually 8/9 constant players.

Would you feel Lambert is getting it wrong Hampy?

I think whatever else you do you have got to start with getting tight at the back and be hard to beat first so I don’t understand why Donacien and Nsiala aren’t getting any opportunity.

    I can’t understand Dozzell’s lack of minutes.

I can’t understand why Edwards isn’t the first name on the team sheet having looked our best player at the start of the season.

    That’s about it.

Donacien we are clearly trying to get the deal to collapse re permit id say. £750,000 is a big fee for us these days ( sadly ) especially for a player the manager doesn't want to play. Would be better using the £££ elsewhere if at all possible.

Is Nsiala better than Pennington/ Chambers? Honestly don’t know seen so little myself. Seen so little. I will admit what little I have seen Chambers hasn't been brilliant,,,,,,,, however maybe takes bravery to drop captain and play Nsiala WITH Pennington!?

Re Dozzell - is he fully fit yet / ready? When he came on v Boro he was very good, but Boro had cigars out and was only a little period of time. Based on what I've read, it doesn't appear he's pulled up trees this season to date when given an opportunity - so I'm going to throw it out there - perhaps he's not ready / good enough / fully fit yet?

Edwards started like a house on fire. Skipping past players for fun. However, in the first eight games he quickly became our obvious one threat - so I would imagine sides would have put more men on him / figured out how he was going past players. Defensively, the Bristol City highlights showed his defensive positioning as utterly clueless. Spence may well be bad, getting pelters, however you do require some form of protection infront of you. Edwards space awareness / positioning seems akin to a wing Kevin Bru. He simply must improve various areas of his game to be a success - there is a player in there - however we don't want Grant Ward 2.0.

    How I see it anyway.
