I'll do my post now, as I'll be a bit tipsy come 5pm..... We are going up say we are going up... Fantastic 3 points today...just brilliant!
After a really encouraging half hour, terrible error, and then 2 down. Oh dear, such is our luck! Doubt we can get back from this.
No, been out for dinner. Catching up on final score and with other results it’s been a very bad day for Town indeed. Silver lining is the Norwich result.
I wouldn't say that, gaffer. Ward was useless as always and even though Brenner and Mick were saying Nolan had a good game I don't agree. He played the ball backwards too often even when he had space to drive forward and made a horrible pass that led to the first goal. We're trying to play some possession based football in our half but all too often when the ball landed with Chambers he played the same diagonal long ball out to QPR's RB position that we rarely won. Pennington had a good game and Downes was the most positive of the midfielders, always looking to play forwards first. Ref made some bad decisions but that has been the story for us all season.
Any summaries on the game!? Didn't watch a second unfortunately as overseas. Any positives? What negatives today? Onto Boro - yeah that's a loss. Essentially that's my write up!
Summary Westy, QPR, like most opposition teams, looked far more comfortable on the ball than us. They were quick and incisive on the break and knew what to do with the ball when attacking. A lot of the things we did seemed rushed and forced, especially in the final third where there was a distinct lack of composure. We were also guilty of not playing quick enough at the right times. Other teams seem to be comfortable working the ball around the goal area to create chances and space, we do not. Ward was gash, Spence isn't of much use in an attacking sense (or a defending one to be honest) and Nolan was poor in my opinion, sending the ball 50 yards backwards to Gerken on a couple of occasions when he could've carried the ball forward instead. Harrison barely won any headers and Sears was ineffective out wide. Downes was my man of the match followed by Pennington. We did have one or two good passages of play but it didn't result in any decent chances created. It was pretty poor from us today but we were in the match until Nolan's poor back pass and Gerken's weak save gave the initiative to QPR. It went downhill from there and it never really looked like we would be capable of scoring, with poor set pieces and disjointed play the story of the day.
