Thinking back to last year's race (I can't watch at work!!) I recall CC had one real burst of acceleration about half a furlong out? He seemed to go from half a length down to half a length in front in the blink of an eye. Whilst that looked visually very impressive I think today he is facing a different class of animal (no disrespect to RVW). If TQ gets Frankel settled (which I'm sure he will - he was well settled at Ascot before the jockey got after him) I'm pretty sure he'll kick for home 2 out and quickly open up 3 or 4 lengths over CC. CC will come back at him for sure but I don't believe he will have enough get there and Frankel will score by 2 lengths.
We need this thread renamed: “Only ONE in the Sussex Stakes”. Will have to wait until I get home to see the recording, but Cornelius Lysaght’s Twitter feed (“#Goodwood: Frankel, Frankel, Frankel” told me he had won – nothing like incisive journalism, straight to the point. On the Beeb Sports site it says he made all and left Canford Cliffs for dead at the furlong pole to win by five. So that’s that argument over. Maybe Hannon will put Strong Suit up against him next time.
