Travelling from southampton, usually get on the m3 from the avenue.Looked on the AA route planner and it says to join the m4.
Where is the best pub near to the stadium to have a drink before the game??? Parking seems pretty easy as they allocate plenty at the stadium (£5 or free if you have a family ticket) Cant wait for this one

Cardiff fan, Well I would be really sad if away fans cannot be given a warm reception and respect if they wear the shirt supporting their team. Sure during the game we both want to win and some friendly banter is fine but real supporters do have respect for other fans. Hopefully whatever the result your experience at our ground will be a lot better than you think.
Well I ran out on the turf of ninian park as a 3 year old, my dad and family are from Cardiff and I have a large soft spot for the bluebirds but my dad and I have been Saints fans and season ticket holders for 19 years now. I'll be going home country wise next week wearing my saints shirt and if anyone gives me grief I'll be shocked! We're not millwall or Swansea fans and most bluebirds will be friendly don't worry. If they do give you grief it's pretty simple, walk away or say alright woos and if they stand up to that get ready for a fight. I severely doubt they'll care though and alright woos is pretty clear to a Welshman what you mean!
If the Cardiff fans are getting uppity you could offer them for a "cwtch". Or perhaps not. I wear a replica shirt to St Marys, but it does seem a bit unwise to wear it In someone else's backyard. I definitely think it shouldn't be worn in Southsea!
I live in Cardiff and have been to a few Cardiff vs Southampton games. I can't think of any pubs near by specifically for away fans but then i would normally drink with my Cardiff supporting friends anyway. One place I would stay away from (if it hasn't been torn down) is the Ninian, obviously a strongly bluebirds pub that the riff raff seem to like to go (though i have snuck in once). There is a main road (Cowbridge Road) about 15mins walk from the stadium with loads of pubs on it, best ones i would say are the The Goscombe and The Ivor Davies (Weatherspoons), but loads of others to choose from. The town centre is walkable from the stadium, would say about 45mins, and you would barely know there was a match on there, before and after the game. So would take your pick from any pubs there. I've never had any trouble from the Cardiff fans and have been openly supporting saints in the Ninian Park home end before now. Helps i am with Cardiff fans probably but most are ok. Obviously get the bad bunch like any team, just stay away from them. I will be buying my ticket on the day, hopefully in the away end but will sit in the home end again if i have to. Enjoy the game and the city, sure it will be a close one.
If you mean how to purchase them, you have to purchase before you travel as cardiff are not selling on the gate, just got mine in the post today. If you have a kid with you i'd recommend the family stand where we are sitting,18 quid for a adult and a fiver for the kid,if not think it's 27 quid, also if you have a kid there might still be some free car parking outside the away turnstile which you ask for when booking the tickets.Gotta say welldone Cardiff for the free parking for families, also got a nice letter with my tickets and a nice cardboard ticket holder with the stadium layout on,nice touches.
I meant are there any left, I think I will have to get there for 9.00 tomorrow. My laptop's keyboard is broke, using the on screen one is a nightmare.
