One swallow does not make a summer But one can lead to many more, While one win will not make a season It´s better than defeat or a draw And although one-nil over Birmingham Is not going to make headline news, In the context of this season so far It was crucial, to keep bums on pews But until tomorrow´s new hurdle Is cleared, and more lessons are learned, I still have my doubts that the Germans Have proved any corner´s been turned. ...but we live in hope.
After Fulham and QPR it's another green shoot but the three losses have undermined them. A win tomorrow would help though.
So they do say, so they do say - interesting to lose the ´possession stakes´ just for once, and at the same time win the match, wonder whether that was by luck or by judgement.
City 0 - 0 Brewers - Never mind the quality, feel the possession compare that to Alex Neil´s Preston - 3 - 0 over Cardiff!
Certainly done nothing to relieve my doubts as regards the German invasion , especially considering we haven´t played any of the top sides yet.
Things could improve, but it doesn't leave me full of confidence. Playing two CMs against two lower teams at home has helped the defense, but at the cost of the attack. Only 2 shots on target looks a bit grim as we go away to in form Sheffield United. I'm still not sure the players we've brought in are capable promotion contention.
I was surprised when I saw the lineup last night and fully expected Reed to start in place of Tettey. Saturday will be a good test for DF and the squad.
