if we go on to win the league I think we'll be looking back at the last two league games. With no Fabregas/Costa and having played 120 mins in a cup semi midweek a draw at City was a good result especially given how poor and lethargic we were. We've now followed that up with a win at Villa and City seem way off the pace of late. With Yaya Toure playing in the AFCON final tonight it's difficult to imagine him getting back to Manchester before Tuesday hence him being unlikely to feature for City until after the FA Cup weekend. They haven't won a game without him.

All we can do is take care of our own form but if we can beat Everton on Wednesday and Stoke do us a huge favour with 13 games remaining it would be a tall order to clas that gap back even for City.

Looking good for the league and a Cup Final on the cards. COYB!

Yeah we're going well aym, like you say one game at a time, and just focus on us.

my worry is that we aren't playing particularlywell. Even against villa we were quite leggy and not very incisive.

This kind of form is expected maybe a month or two down the line, not in February, and it remains to be seen if we'll improve or dip.

Despite not playing particularly well, we are picking up the points we need. hope we can keep pushing and start playing some nice football again in the closing half of the season.

If we win 10 of our last 14 games, draw 2 and lose 2, say... that would five us 88 points.

City, with a tougher run-in than us, would have to win 13 out of their last 14 to match us on 88 points.

That looks promising, but don't want to count anything before they hatch like I did last season.

    Matic is key.

Seems like one of those weekends that felt pivotal. City dropping points at home again to a bottom half club, Yaya can't come back soon enough.

7 points can easily be eroded away but we're in a good position.

That does sound promising though, with our run in, you gotta think that we will win 10 of our last 14, barring a total collapse.
And I cannot see City winning 13 of the last 14, not on this showing. They still have to go to Old Trafford aswell I think.

They are at Stoke on Wednesday....never a nice place to visit....I can see some more dropped points there.

The thing is, can anyone really predict anything?!

I'd have never have thought that City would lose at home to Stoke and draw with Hull and Burnley at home. Likewise we got battered at Spurs, lost at Newcastle and had narrow wins against struggling sides like Villa and QPR.

Still a long way to go. I think if we get into the final 8-10 games and have the same gap or more, I'll start to believe. But we have a tricky last few games so unless we have a big gap, it'll go to the wire.

To confirm, in our last 7 games, we have United, Arsenal (away) and Liverpool plus a tricky away tie at Loftus. Plenty of dropped points in there potentially.

We are going as well as anyone and better than everyone else. Can't expect more than that, though the quality of the football has gone off quite a bit. Hopefully will see a return to a better standard soon. the others have to catch us now.

Over the last 10 games your form is 2nd (Spurs 1st) and over the last 6 games your form is 5th <ok>

That surprises me but it must be very narrow between the top 5 as I can't really see whose made any real ground on us. More importantly is that we've extended our lead over the 2 sides most likely to challenge us. The fact Spurs for instance may have made up a couple of points is irrelevant now.

These are our 'Away' run ins in PL & CL.

Lester (PP), West Ham, Hull, QPR, Goons, West Brom
Paris, then probable away games - QF, SF & Berlin.

    -------------------------

    These are City's.

Stoke , Pool, Burnley, Palace, Manure, Spuds, Swans
    Barcelona - one and done.

    -----------------------------

Every league game is tricky. Form & records will be out of the window especially derbies.
Having said that - we travel out of London for only 3 games out of the remaining 14 league games.
3 off 14 (Hull, W Brom, Lester) - That should give us some very good momentum.

But this is not as good as goons luck of last seaon's FA cup schedule - not stepping out of London. <whistle>

Goons still got the luck - 4 off 13 out of London.
Spuds have used all their luck already - 6 off 13 out of London. Ouch!

We made the semis last year with a lesser side and squad.
