National Gallery in London's nice. I'm not exactly a connoiseur of art but it's nice to spend an hour in relative quiet looking at nice paintings.

The Louvre is incredible but so busy that it's difficult to pay atention. The best one I've been to is the national in Vienna.

I made a nice paiting of a young parisian lady, looking out over Paris and wondering where her life would take her. Who knows what beholds that young lady. Where is her sweetheart and could she find another to replace him?

I painted it with my cock.

It would have been more impressive if you'd painted it on your cock.

    It was both <laugh>

The art school students complained about it, some RC clergy types hated Dali's "conversion" to Catholicism cos of his history and the OO complained about public money being spent on a religious painting by a high profile catholic.

Most people complained because of the amount of money it cost the city when the money could've been spent elsewhere.

Given the tourists it brings in and how Glaswegians feel about the painting now, it's safe to say that they were all wrong <laugh>

Priests, the OO and poncey art students being wrong, eh?

    Who'da thunk it?

It's funny you should bring up the subject of art.

This afternoon I visited Willy Lott's cottage, the location for Constable's Hay Wain. I went there around 5pm and the dusky backdrop added a certain magic to the place. I love the fact that the vista is almost unchanged, except for the slight rise in the waterline.

For me, the Hay Wain is the finest of all the masterpieces.
