You want to leave Fernandez's ""cuff"" to Sterling head out of the equation . Sterling and Fernandez cancelled each other out .If Fernandez hadnt ""cuffed"" Sterling and Sterling did what he did then Sterling would have probably been sent off .
A "cuff" to the head is not necessarily a sending off offence. Hitting someone in the face is a sending off offence.
Without the cuff , Sterling would certainly be sent off imo .But the cuff, not one of the ""Friendly "" touchs to the back of the head that PGF wants to push it off as , insured no action against Sterling .PGF wants to compare what Sterling did to what Shelvey did without bringing Fernandez into the equation. What Shelvey did with his elbow stands alone and he got what he deserved imo.Apparenrly in the opinion of those that matter also .Fernandez cuffed Stetling enough to anger him into retaliation.Go back and look at all.plays involved.
So you admit you have never seen a player sent off for what Fernandez did. If you strike an opponent in the face it's a red card, irrespective of what happened before it - so Sterling should have been off. End of. The Shelvey incident is a separate. He should have been sent off and has now received a ban - as should Sterling.I am not trying to compare them.
You just haven't got a clue about football. I guess it comes from watching it in your Canadian armchair.
If you watch the whole incident, sterling shoves Fernandez when he had stopped running. Fernandez then had to hurdle the small hoarding just stopping by the Kop railings. Now if Fernandez tripped over the hoatding, he would have gone head first onto said railings, thus causing him a severe injury. Now after that Fernandez didn't cuff him, he bloody well should have for the snide push. As always one rule for us and one for the bigger clubs.
Sorry , sour grapes.Fernandez and Sterling should have been dealt with together , both red carded or not , and were dealt with together.Shelvey got what he had coming .To try to make this a what happened to Shelvey and what happened to Sterling without Fernandez's part is a laugh .
You wouldn't get this in the old days. footballers today are obscenely paid girls that are not worth supporting...
