46 years since my dad brought me down to Bournemouth in 1967 to watch Rodney strut his magic. Dad, an only child, was a lifelong R, as was his dad, my grandfather, since the early 1900's, so definitely a family tradition, or curse? Living on Bradiston Rd, later Fernhead Rd, those two used to go to all the R's home games together - lunch at the pub, the game, then pick up mum for dinner and an evening out at the Hippodrome. Would have been interested to know why my grandfather chose to support the R's over other London clubs.
