Feels like a lifetime ago :(
It was a great trip.

We were in the second row of the upper tier - the front row was taped off, so effectively the front row.

Swans fans were quick as a flash when their player was sent off “Adios, Adios, Adios ….’ instead of ‘Cheerio, Cheerio, Cheerio…’ <laugh>

Great performance by the team & great result.

We had more Spaniards in our team than Valencia!

Only downside was that the police kept us penned in until long after the final whistle <steam>

Born on this day 1949 in Neath,
Leighton Phillips, former Wales football international, described as a 'granite' hard defender. During his career, he made over 450 appearances in the Football League for Cardiff City, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Charlton Athletic and Exeter City. He also won 58 caps for Wales.

Also born this day but twenty years later was Catherine Zeta Jones.

I know Leighton reasonably well; also knew his Dad, Lincoln.

Lincoln played football with my father.

It seems like only yesterday.

One of Swansea City's greatest performances. Bony was a real Beast. <laugh>
Seems like a dream - don't think it will happen again and certainly not in my lifetime. Probably will come over for a couple of games this season - but to be honest virtually none of the players mean anything to me.

I never knew about him being a substitute fielder for Glamorgan.

Ford was a magnificent player. Defences were terrified of him.
He came off the conveyor belt of footballing talent that Swansea enjoyed during, and after, the second world war.

I came across him selling cars near Fforestfach in the mid 1980's. He was in his 60's but looked super fit.
Had a nice chat with him. Very friendly, even after realising I wasn't looking to buy one of his cars.

His wiki page makes interesting reading.

Played for Glammy as well. <laugh>
