I can still see in my mind’s eye the goal he scored against Shrewsbury. He cut in from the right, in front of the North Bank, and hit it with his left foot into the far top corner of the net to give us a 1-0 lead and set us off on a 5-0 win - the first win of the season: we had lost the first 3 league matches in Division 3 1970/71 season.
