I love a bit of Old Spice but the nan has bought me some better stuff to woo Watford's 18-40 female population.

Retired to the TV room between courses/hiding from relatives

Son turned up on good form, demolished most of the Brunello myself (delicious, well done Aldi at £15 a bottle), girding myself for port and cheese, second wind required. Well chuffed with the Doc Martens shoes that can been worn with a suit, enabling me to kick business opponents in style. TV only turned on 15 minutes ago, Jesus Christ we've talked to each other all day.

    Christmas Day is over.
The family have come and gone.
The demolition men ( 3 grandsons ) been, conquered and flown off.
All the beautification work that Mrs Aussie and l had done to our house has now been devalued, destructed and bulldozed by these small, yet dangerous young powerhouses.
Mrs Aussie gets a ' mention in despatches' for her marvellous work on the day. I spent most the day trying to curtail and limit the damage by the travelling circus demolition show.

It is now Boxing Day, l've aged further, the house must now be valued the lowest in the street, the fridges are ready to explode from overloading. The kitchen needs a facelift and the sh!tter is shagged.

All in all, just another successful Christmas Day in Oz land.
    We survived.
Now l can crawl back into my shell for another 12 months.

first downer of the day. now consuming my kids' gift to me, 10 year old tawny port, delicious Miller's Damsels buttermilk biscuits and....... a fantastic, allegedly award winning German (? Really?) soft blue cheese, which they bought at a deli and which came properly i.e. unpackaged and unbranded. And they can't remember what it's called. As I have already, despite being pre-stuffed, eaten about half a pound of the stuff, I need to know how to get more quickly!

My wife has now confiscated both the cheese and the port as she doesn't want to have to call an ambulance.

Have also just been informed that the kids were originally going to buy me a kilo of the cheese, before deciding that this was a 'stupid amount of cheese'. Clearly I have failed in my duties as a parent, there is no such thing as a stupid amount of cheese!

Well done Aussie, you survived virtually unscathed although the house sounds like its taken a bit of a pasting. Still, 12 months to put it back together before it gets wrecked again.

..........not to mention the tawny port.
I'm currently sampling the Daily Squeezed Tawny Port.
The 'AM' is a limited edition series is rather mature with a long drawn out aftertaste while the 'PM' batch ( also a limited edition ) is young and fruity and smacks you between the chops when thrown back, hic!
