Absolute dog **** last night. First half looked as though the players actually wanted to win despite being unable to shoot on target but then second half was awful. Just awful. Sherwood ****ed up with the subs, Ade was playing really well and even if he was tiring, we needed him on that pitch which says it all for a player who's only had about 30 mins of action prior to last night. Defoe must've been flagged offside a 100 times and I can't be arsed to talk about much else. To lose to West Ham at home once is embarrassing, twice? That's a ****ing disgrace.
do you think a manager coming in now can realistically get you into the top 4? if so then fair enough but if not then why not stick with AVB and let him have more than 16 games to integrate 7 new players (plus dealing with all the injuries)? anyway it's done now so good luck for the rest of the season for taking points off Liverpool's rivals
I think it was just a massive ego trip by Levy after AVB mentioned something he shouldn't about the way the transfers were done in his press conference, but his job is to think of Spurs not his ego
As Redknapp proved, you can be in the basement first half and cause real problems to the usual suspects for the rest of the season, IF the right man is appointed at the right time. We are not a million miles away pointswise and we have signed players who excelled at their previous clubs. Who gets the job will decide if we are kicking on or going back to scuffing around mid table. Its that simple.
I am not actually sure that AVB wanted to stay. His body language at the end suggested he didn't know what to do any more.
I don't think you are so far off either if you get a good manager and a quality striker in January but I also think the competition for top 4 is so much greater this year with even everton getting in there
I see Everton, Spurs and Liverpool all fading towards the end of the season. Its just a matter of who fades the least. At the moment it looks like Liverpool have it, but an injury to Suarez later in the campaign could be disastrous. Contrary to previous seasons, we have a big squad more capable of maintaining form, but is and will that form be high enough?
Everton have Deulofeu out for the next month already. We merely have no manager, no direction, Kaboul and Vertonghen aren't scheduled to return for another month, and Townsend out for an unspecified time...
I was going to say you were more or less on the money with your comment, then realized it really lifted my spirits. It's interesting to consider that AVB was hired to coach a team that included Moutinho and Bale, and was fired because he couldn't whip a kind of 24 and under all-star team into shape. That may illustrate the hazards of the improv Spurs style as well as anything.
To satisfy your penchant for precise accuracy, a wee butchers at Barca's OS would have helped in this instance. http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football...ecover-from-his-hamstring-injury-in-barcelona
