Here's a stat which may surprise you - it did me - Emmanuel Adebayor now has as many Premier League goals as ex-Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp. Eighty-seven. (Stat from BBC Football website) Does that make Ade an "Invicible"?
Mixed first half, for me. The lack of a holding player looks like a glaring omission and our defending's been a bit last ditch at times, when various players have been out of position. We look pretty dangerous on the break though, with Eriksen being at the heart of most of our better moves. Bony's been a constant pain in the arse for our centre-backs with Dawson getting the worst of it, but their midfield have given us the ball cheaply on a load of occasions. I think that we need to solidify things in the middle of the park, keep the ball a lot better and look to hit them quickly whenever possible. They're really struggling against our breaks and it seems to take them some time to recover from each of them too, even when they're not successful.
He can't have been watching Martin Skrtel much recently, then. Should be penalised from virtually every set-piece.
Bentaleb tends to keep things simple and seldom gives away possession. That must be what Sherwood is after.
Because we haven't been scoring much this season, we are not clinical enough. The teams above us would have got another goal from that period of pressure once it went 1-0.
Shelvey's done his hamstring. Walked off, so he'll probably only miss a few weeks, thankfully. Replaced by Lamah. Not massively familiar with him.
Really nice controlled move, though the OG's more than a little unlucky. Decent idea by Walker, but nobody made the run.
