Apart from Ade's goal, I cannot recall any other shots, let alone whether they were on target or not.
Really? The full back was on the half way line going away from goal. Would've been very soft to give a yellow. Not sure quite what to make of the first half. We've looked good on the counter and up front and in central midfield we've looked good but we look really vulnerable still and I think if Soton were playing well then we'd be behind. I don't really see what our strategy is at the moment, unless "win the ball and then all run forward" counts, I'm impressed with the effort the team's putting in but not with the tactics, which seem to be making it harder for ourselves.
We have given up a lot control but look much more like scoring for me this has more promise than the AVB strait-jacket. If we had a proper holding midfielder in there and Holtby for Eriksen and Lennon for Lamela it could be very good.
Have we? Apart from the goal I think the Sigurdsson blocked shot was the only other chance we've had, certainly the only other shot we've had inside the box, which was a criticism of AVB's tactics. It looks to me like the effort that everyone's putting in is the only thing keeping the game competitive to me. Well, that and Soton not playing particularly well.
More fluid forward movement with players getting into the box is a marked difference to what we have seen recently.
