Top 4 is gone in my opinion Old Boy. We've been clinging to the smallest of threads for a while and quite frankly, with our results and performances this season against the teams currently occupying a top 4 position, we're miles away from the levels their at. I'd actually be worried now if we DID get it, based on the performances we've seen this season and last season (take Bale out the equation) quite frankly we'd be a laughing stock in the elite European competition. As for the upcoming match... Just try not to lose Tottenham, if you want to at least give the fans some sort of relief then don't lose at home to that scummy lot. It really would be the final nail in the coffin if we suffered a home defeat to them.
I agree SOS. and to be honest, we don't deserve it. Fairplay to Liverpool. They've held on to their best player and played some superb football this season which has been enjoyable to watch. (Please don't kill me HIAG ) It just shows what can happen if you hold onto your best players and build around them. They actually have some players in their starting 11 that don't massively impress me, but they are full of confidence and Rogers is getting the best out of them. That's what a team is all about, and we're been far from that this season.
Yeah Liverpool are a prime example of a club that won't be bullied and credit to them for that. I suppose luckily for them they didn't have Real Madrid (at least not for a whole Summer) harassing them for their star player and eventually offering a world record fee but nonetheless, Pool stuck to their guns and ensured Suarez was to go nowhere and it's paying dividends big time. Summer should be interesting, no doubt one of (or more) Vertonghen, Lloris and maybe one or two others will get linked with moves away. Let the games begin!
I've enjoyed watching Liverpool more than Spurs this season, even though i have no particular love for them. You have to give them credit for their attacking play.
I don't know about out the window, but there's no point thinking about top four unless we beat Arsenal. Put quite simply, we need a win and a severe, probably a very severe, loss of form from Arsenal to get it. The first looks unlikely, the second really unlikely. But that's why you play the game. I hope we at least play Soldado or Eiriksen, preferrably both. As crap as we've been against top four teams, Arsenal hasn't been much better. More to the point, I think, this is an NLD. If we play well enough, we'll win, and recent form doesn't tend to matter much in rivalries (I say based on nothing but a guess...). COYS! Realistic, I think. But you just never know. Nothing is stopping either Liverpool or Arsenal from going on a tear.
Mike Dean's the ref. The Goons absolutely ****ing hate him. No doubt he'll send off half of our side and give them about 8 penalties to even up his tally!
Oh ffs... Not dean...... There goes any hope of the title, enjoy the 3 points. Biggest **** ref in the game.
His record reffing our games is astonishing, he hates us. The highlight being him celebrating a goal against us...
I've started watching Real Madrid a bit this season and it irks me every time I do because Bale is playing better and better for them.
Liverpool never done anything different that we didn't do with Chelsea wanting Modric. Suarez could have forced through the move to the goons if he wanted as there was a release clause in his contract but he was never interested in moving there. He was holding out for Real Madrid so really Liverpool where lucky Madrid wanted Bale as if they wanted Suarez, they would have signed him. As soon as Madrid or Barca start their tricks then they will get Suarez or whoever they want. Utd managed to keep hold of Ronaldo for a year but after that year he went so Madrid always get their target in the end!
I think Levy knew that IF he sold Luka to Chelsea, probably every Spurs fan in the country would protest for Levy to go. Selling stars is one thing, selling stars to rivals is just an absolute no-no. Suarez did seem interested in moving to Arsenal though didn't he? Pretty sure there were a couple of interviews where he mentioned he'd wanna join them (or at least join a CL team). Not sure how or why Arsenal didn't get to speak to Suarez after meeting his buyout clause but the fact Pool kept him deserves some sort of credit, especially after the season he's now having. Plus they've managed to tie Suarez to a new contract and even though it doesn't mean much in today's game, they've got a bigger bargaining chip when demanding a higher price now.
Let's see how the Poool do when La Marca and Madrid staff engage in N months of continual propaganda for one of their players, before claiming what they did with Suarez is some great feat.
Nah, trust me, he wasn't intrested in moving to the gooners! Its similar to seeing a fit woman ( suarez is ugly but sexy in football skills).....flirting with a lesser man (the gooners) hoping to get the attention of the real stud (real madrid), doing all she can to make the stud (real madrid) jealous but when the stud has moved onto to a better woman (bale) she returns to the safe option (liverpool) with the promise of a big shopping spree (a big contract in suarezs case).......but in a years time she (suarez) will be whoring herself out again for a better man!
